I was an am looking to buy some AZ souvenirs. Called about the physical store which, it turns out, has been permanently closed. When I called the other number they suggest, the woman on phone said they don't have a list of retailers selling their books and calendars. Too bad, gotta buy sight unseen from their online store. This thing is run by the government, that's why they are so inept in regards to anything related to online retail. Apparently they have a physical magazine, not sure how long this AZDOT offshoot will exist as people who order physical magazines are dying out. Yet, if I want their high quality books and calendars, they don't even know who sells them so I am forced to not buy any Arizona souvenirs from them at all. (The woman on phone told me to go look on Amazon or Barnes & Noble and couldn't understand why I would like to look what's inside - their products are professional photography related, so you kind of want to see more than 2-3 photos out of 100 photo book, plus what they have online is low quality resolution for stuff like year calendar photo overview).

The quality and appeal of Arizona Highways' products are very good, but their retail shop practices and procedures seem out of date and error prone. When I placed my online order, or when remaining backordered items were shipped, I received no email confirmations. I was told when ordering that two items listed as backordered, they "would be receiving stock" to fill my order for "2 each" of one line item that included one potholder and one oven mitt. We wanted to pair the like items from the 2 orders for Christmas gifts, i.e., potholder with potholder, and oven mitt with oven mitt. However, their shipment only included 1 each, or half of what was ordered. In calling Arizona Highways, I was told they had no more stock and their source couldn't get any more. I had to pay return postage for the half order they sent. At no time did I receive confirmation they had received my return, no confirmation they were refunding my credit card. My recommendation is "buyer beware" until they automate and modernize their order entry and inventory control systems.

My son and I stop by to pick up some souvenirs, the lady behind the counter was fantastic and help helpful , she even offered us free magazine with interesting sites to visit. Yes she was doing her job she was great at it.

Very nice shop. True in keeping to the values and the mission of the magazine. Varied offerings, some seasonal, all priced reasonably, and NO trinkets or tchotchkes (sp). Always an enjoyable visit.

The Arizona Highways gift shop is Arizona's friendly convenient retail store for framed artwork, the Arizona Highways magazine issues, calendars, postcards and unique gifts and well-written books covering travel and adventure and the sites to experience in Arizona. From Wiki, the magazine began in July 1921 by the Arizona Highway Department (now the Arizona Department of Transportation) as a 10-page pamphlet ...then (as a) magazine April 15, 1925.... travel tales, historical stories, and humor about the state of Arizona ...legendary photography. Friendly helpful staff.
