My daughter could spend hours in here and could walk out with a pile of books, but I can't let that happen for many personal reasons, but it's just to say that if you are a reader, a book worm, a bargain hunter, or even a hunter of books, you will love it here.
I bought books for a developing reader (1st grade) and an advanced reader (11th grade) who also found books to support her gaming inquiries.
She knows I would otherwise deny buying these books at full cover price so she was given a time and price limit and still walked out a very happy reader.
The atmosphere was nice, welcoming, and well organized. There are outdated books as well as updates ones. There are grade school workbooks, high school/college study books, storybooks, cooksbooks, etc.
Service was friendly and patient.
I'm sure that when we are back in town, we'd come for another mini book haul.

This is a great book store. I have been bringing my daughter here for years and now she's old enough to work there but they only employ full time so she was a little sad. That should tell you how cool this book store is. Staff is friendly and they also have a great collection of comic books at awesome prices. Give it a visit.

What a great place. Boy did I get into trouble. I kept finding rare books in my area of interest. Before I knew it, I had several books.
The employees are super nice and helpful.

Great variety of books, some I thought were a little over priced but the majority not bad for condition.

Love this bookstore! This location did not have the book I was looking for but they found it at another location and had it delivered to this store. They called me when it was ready to pick up. Love this type of customer service!!

A Truly Disappointing Experience at Half Price Books

I recently visited Half Price Books with high hopes of selling some pristine, brand new book bundles from my collection. These were not your average second-hand books; together, they hold a retail value of $250, untouched, still crisp from the store. I thought, given the excellent condition and the obvious value, I’d be offered a fair price.

Unfortunately, I was sorely mistaken.

When I handed over my carefully curated collection, the employees barely gave them a second glance before dismissing their worth. The offer? A shocking $38. Yes, for $250 worth of brand new books, I was offered a mere $38—barely 15% of their actual value.

What truly bothered me was not just the insultingly low offer, but the dismissive attitude of the staff. It was as if they didn’t care about the effort or the quality of what I was bringing to the table. One employee, in particular, seemed to be in a rush, as if processing my transaction was just an inconvenience. They barely looked up, quickly punched some numbers into the computer, and handed me the offer slip without even a word of explanation.

It made me question whether they truly understand the value of the books they’re dealing with—or if they simply don’t care. When I asked if there was any room for negotiation, I was met with a curt “No, that’s our offer.” No discussion, no consideration, just a flat refusal.

It’s disheartening to see a place that claims to value books and the people who cherish them treat both with such little respect. The experience left me feeling as though I was being taken advantage of, rather than being offered a fair deal. I left the store with my books in hand, feeling disappointed and, frankly, insulted.

If you’re thinking of selling your books here, especially if they’re in excellent condition, be prepared to receive an offer that feels more like a slap in the face than a fair deal. There are plenty of other options out there that might actually appreciate what you bring to the table.

I barely got into the books as they had a pretty great music selection. So great that I’m hesitant to write this. Prices were very fair and the book selection was awesome. Staff was a also friendly. Thanks for a great experience.
