I booked a room for myself and two friends Friday night to attend the recent Tops Rally held at the Eagles Lodge. Got a room w/2 queen beds and asked if I could sleep in my car due to the fact that I haven't been able to sleep in a bed for over 12 years. Long story short, Deidra called me 2 days prior to our trip and said she was going to have her husband put their recliner in the room so I could stay with my friends. I can't tell you how grateful I was for her kindness....it was so appreciated and my friends and I slept like babies. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the pillows were extra fluffy...or...you had the choice of a thinner one. It's not the Taj Mahal, but the service is excellent, the place is clean, and we had a wonderful visit. Thank you to the staff and especially to Diedra, who made my night! : )

The staff were all helpful and friendly. I stayed for 2 nights with my kitty and it was very quiet and we felt safe. I didnโ€™t have any issues during my stay but I do think itโ€™s overpriced considering everything is very old and outdated.

Well, for $120 (incl. taxes) we got a last-minute booking, very accommodating staff, we were able to put our 3 bikes into the room and get a shuttle the next morning to Hawleyes Landing. Shower was pleasant. Convenient location to get food. The hotel definitely needs a renovation, but the staff managing it deserves kudos for the great work theyโ€™re doing.

I have stayed at The Pines many times. For years, it was, more or less, the only place to stay when visiting Saint Maries. The hotel has changed little over the decades. It has been more than 20 years since I stayed there and the decor seems exactly the same. The building is co Crete block, 2 story, no ele ator. It is very clean and, in fact, a light odor of cleaning fluid lingers. The bed is reasonably comfortable, but the pillows are the kind that feel non-existent. There is a nice fridge and microwave in the room, and coffee is outside in the hall. It seemed pretty noisy in the hotel well into the early hours. I think it is because of the acoustics of the hotel. Service at the hotel was very good. The front desk is quite helpful.

The hotel looked like it belongs in St Maries. Dated and well kept. ||There appeared to be several people hanging in the parking lot enjoying themselves that evening. We had to call to get our key at 730pm as it wasn't manned. No big thing as they were quick to run over and got us set up. We went out to find food and the streets were rolling up except the pizza place which was ok. We came back and ate at our room which had wet floors I'm assuming and hoping from carpet cleaning. We quickly went to bed after eating and slept well until we were blasted awake by mariachi and country music by the folks from the parking lot at 6am. The noise went down until about 730 then blasted. After calling the front desk 3 times without response, I went up and addressed it myself as it was clear and out noised our TV on the highest setting. ||Later that morning I could hear them chanting music in our hall, but it wasn't as loud as the music upstairs. It's been 2 hours and the front desk has made no attempt at customer service. The hotel is clean, but the environment is less than par.

First the good: The staff were super friendly and helpful. They even offered to help me with my luggage (I had a lot because of a business trip). The room was very clean, quiet, and cozy. The bed was comfortable enough. My heater kept the room comfortable for me and wasn't too awfully loud. There were 2 nice size tables and 3 chairs, so I had plenty of space to spread out my stuff. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. There were also two large coffee cups with cocoa packets in them. That was a nice touch. ||Before I go on to the cons - I would like to note: From what I've heard, this is the better motel in St. Maries. Most of the cons below are pretty minor, and my stay overall was pleasant enough. If you need to stay in St. Maries, and are on a budget, I would recommend this motel.||Cons: Don't come here expecting new and fancy. It is not a chain hotel. I'm not sure when the hotel was built (maybe 1960s or 70s). It is well maintained, and looks like it's had some renovations through the years. It feels a bit like stepping into the early 1980s though. The bathroom was very tiny and the sink and bathtub were 1970s yellow. The shower had two separate controls for hot and cold - but not too big of a deal. The shower head was built for someone short (I am 5' 8" and it hit my shoulders) and had very little water pressure. It must be the shower head they use, because it had lots of pressure coming out of the tap. The vanity was small, the light above was a pale yellow, and there is no full-length mirror. Not very conducive to putting on makeup, doing hair, and getting dressed for a business presentation. They don't provide a hair dryer, but I always carry my own. The outlet by the sink is old, NOT GFCI, and my hairdryer power plug kept falling out of the outlet. This needs to be fixed, as it is a definite fire/safety hazard. Attendants are only in the office in the late afternoon/early evening hours, so I didn't really know what to do with my key when I left at 7am. I ended up just slipping it under the door. They should probably add a drop box or something if they aren't going to keep the office staffed. ||

While the price is right, the rooms show lots of wear and tear. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. All of the buttons and labels are missing off the HVAC unit, so you have to try to figure out how it runs. Fan only seemed to run on a very loud high. Luckily the window opens. There is coffee in the hallway. Room has instant and a microwave.||We stayed here because they offer bike shuttle to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. However, when I checked in, I found the motel had changed owners May 1 and there was confusion about my Feb reservation including transport. This was worked out by telephone since the office shut early and we eventually got hauled to the trail the next morning. Even though I had written confirmation, something apparently got lost in the sale. They stated that they will continue to offer this service with a modest fee, but I'd advise confirmation by phone.
