Staying at the Bear Lodge was an enjoyable experience. Our room was large and clean and comfortable. We were surprised however that for a multi-day stay, housekeeping only comes on the 4th day, and therefore it is your responsibility to monitor your toilet paper supply, your towel supply, and your wastebaskets. There are also a limited number of electrical outlets for charging your electronics, and some convenient built-in usb ports would have been greatly appreciated. ||The Bear Lodge is close to some great nature walks, as well as Creamer’s Field for wildlife viewing. The grounds are nicely kept with superb flower gardens. The personnel are also friendly and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay.

The grounds are beautiful; our room was clean; otherwise it’s a tired, dated, shop worn motel. Staff pretty much clueless and in no hurry to help you. I needed to print luggage tags for cruise. Asked if there was a business center; person at desk had no idea what I was asking for. Told her I needed to print something. She told me printer didn’t work but I could walk across the property which is huge to another building and use computer there. Turns out there was a business center in the coffee shop and the printer worked fine. Went to lobby early morning looking for coffee. There was none; guy at the desk told me they were running late and that coffee was only available in the restaurant and there was “no free coffee.” I have never stayed in a hotel that did not have complimentary coffee in the morning. Yes there was coffee maker in room but that stuff is always terrible. There is nothing nearby so don’t arrive hungry; restaurant and coffee shop in hotel were both closed. Buffet Breakfast was included in our tour and was very good. I would opt to stay in a chain hotel if I ever returned.

Hotel was chosen by NCL for a land tour. Very nice rooms. The staff are great! Had dinner in the Golden Bear restaurant onsite. The best fish and chips that I have ever eaten. Kevin, our server was phenomenal! Can't say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend.

The airport shuttle and on-site hiking options made this property a top pick when selecting my accommodations. Although the restaurant was closed for breakfast at 10:30 am, the location allowed for a quick pivot to a local restaurant that was recommended by the front desk staff. Clean, easy check-in and out. I would keep Bear Lodge as an option for future trips.

Room service only cleans every four days,WiFi does not work on most of the 3rd floor in my experience. Literally have to use cellular data to even post this. Also breakfast is $30. They also charge for laundry, minimum $6 for a washer and dryer. I will say the staff are nice at least, the fitness center is sub par though.

Three of us stayed at Bear Lodge. The check in clerk was very friendly & helpful. Our room was clean & spacious for a double queen room. The bed was comfortable. We had a refrigerator & a microwave. We did not dine here. We hiked the trail that went around the little lake & saw two nesting tundra swans with their chicks. We took a tour that picked us up in the lobby of the hotel. We were in town for the Midnight Sun Run.

Clean comfortable rooms. They only clean the rooms every 4 days of your stay. There is a restaurant cafe and bar on-site. Staff is friendly and cordial. They try to help you and meet any needs that you may have during your stay. Definitely will return. I appreciate their time and effort during my stay.

We stayed here with a NCL Cruise tour. The rooms were nice and large enough for a family of 4 adults. We went in August, and the temperatures were about 50 degrees. However, we turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees and opened the sliding door because it was so hot in the room. Also, the door handle was broke and needs repair. Otherwise, room 159 was perfect. There was a restaurant on site. We didn't eat there. One thing to know, THIS HOTEL IS NOT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO ANYTHING AND THE HOTEL DOES NOT PROVIDE A SHUTTLE. There were many persons on the tour who could not walk 1-2 miles to the stores that they say are nearby. My husband had to walk 2-3 miles to a store and back. He made it carrying grocery bags, but he is in great shape. Also, using the gym is a chore. You have to first go to another building to get your "room key approved", then you walk about 10 minutes away to another building in the rain (since it is almost always raining in Fairbanks). The hotel did not tell us that they had umbrellas or offer them to us when we expressed dissatisfaction with having to walk to another building to use the gym. We were there for two days, and no one bought new towels or made the beds while we were out each day. Maybe that is just how they do things here now, but Covid is over, and many hotels have gone back to at least asking if you need clean towels. No one who works at the hotel knows anything about the area. We asked for directions to the nearby bird sanctuary and were given wrong directions twice and never made it there. Our tour guide realized that we weren't near anything and got our bus driver to take us for a trip to Fred Myer, which is a Kroger affiliate, but much larger and diverse. This was a life saver.
