I wondered around in here looking for my college books with my friends and no one bugged us, we didn't want help so we didn't ask. After we found them we were able to just sit in the coffee area even though the coffee shop itself was closed (all one room.) The lighting was nice and the chairs were comfy.

I work in customer service, so I know the difference between great and poor customer service. I'm empathetic, so I am respectful and polite when I encounter a customer service representative. When I came in to return a book, instead of getting a polite "sorry, you missed the return window" I felt like I was being reprimanded. I left and called and talked to a more polite employee who gave me helpful information. I came back and encountered, who I assume is the manager, and she was cold and disconnected. Again I felt like I was being reprimanded. I was at the counter looking at my phone when she says "when you're at the counter, it's you and me; no phone." Excuse me? Are you my mother? Do you control other people's actions? No. If I want to be on my own personal device while you're typing at a computer, I will do exactly that. Poor customer service. For the money students pay for tuition and books, we should be getting great service. The student employees are all great, they just have some poor management I guess.

Overpriced but are good with returns and will buy your books back sometimes. I heard the employees aren't allowed to study when it's slow. I think they should be able to read a book when they aren't helping people like most UAA jobs.

Slowwww service. I want to support UAA and this bookstore but they make it difficult to do so. Books are organized by author and not classes or subject. I had a pricing discrepancy from the price on the shelf and what the register rang up. After dealing with the cashier stating there's nothing she can do for me, I asked her to call the manager, native middle age lady with short hair; and the manager going back and forth disputing what I said. I finally provided a phone picture of the price tag but the situation was still not resolved. I ended up leaving and purchasing the product directly from the publisher and saved $20.

Their customer service is not very good to be honest. I am a disabled veteran who's been going to UAA for 2 years now, and everytime I go here to get my books for the upcoming semester there is always some sort of issue. For example, they always without failure tell me I have no money on my VA account, which isnt true because it gets reloaded every semester. The workers all seem like they are brand new as well which is frustrating. The hours are horrible, and the week before the start of the next semester they are always closed for some reason when students need to buy their books which is unacceptable. Also when they do close for a day, the bookstore does not put the information online, so if you look online before you leave to see if they are open it will say it is but it really isnt which is a waste of time. Overall highly disatisfied with this bookstore.
