I booked this hotel because I read Glenwood hotsprings was the best hotspings in Colorado and this was the main hotel, but it might as well be a random hotel that happens to be the closest hotel. In the winter the walk is going to be rough, and you’d think that robes at least as an offering might be something they consider but no. This is not the only way they ignore the interests of the guests. The vending machines are largely down or don’t accept credit card and aren’t available on each floor, and the front desk hasn’t a clue when you call them. The gym they talk about is $28 per person which is absurd. No discount for being with the hotel either from what we were told. I regret booking this hotel. If hot springs is what you’re looking for in winter, don’t book this hotel because the walk is absurd for how close it claims to be. Pick another hot springs. What they did well, the breakfast was good, and the room was good quality, but that’s something you can get at any higher priced hotel.

The room was lovely and clean. It’s about a 3 minute walk across the street to the hot springs. The staff was great. Yes, the ac was off but it is fall in the mountains. Our room temperature was great with the windows open and the fan on. The walk to town is a nice perk so we didn’t have to drive. They are doing renovations in the lodge so parts are closed for construction and we did get a brisk 7am fire alarm wake up call. It will be really nice when it’s all done.

I’d give it a better rating if they were honest about their “4-star” hotel.

It’s honestly a 3 star. It’s a comfortable, basic amenity hotel. While sure the hot springs is an upscale amenity, that’s it.

They say breakfast is included. However, you do also have to walk to the hot spring lobby to eat, and the food is heated upon order instead of sitting in the metal serving trays at other hotels. There’s nothing special about it, and we actually ended up tossing our food and going out for breakfast instead.

Additionally, we did have the unfortunate stay when the AC was out. They called ahead to ask if we still wanted to proceed with our reservation, which we did.
We thought we’d be fine with the screen door open, but sadly our door was broken, so we had 0 ventilation. The smell was so awful, we purposefully got up early to depart, rather than have a leisurely morning.

It’s not a terrible hotel, if you know what to expect. It would just be nice if they were more transparent and not try to oversell.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. Sadly, lots of things that could be improved. A couple of us early birds came down to the lobby. It is cold abd not very comfortable. Also light switches in the room did not work always. Toilets kept getting stuck and running. The coffee the staff makes at 6 am is full of grounds. This is very poor customer service for the price that we pay to stay here. Sadly my next trip won't be to this hotel.

Location is great if you’re wanting to spend the majority of your time near the resort pools. Rooms were in good condition, there was some construction going on at the other side of the hotel. Front desk was great, service only happened on one day but that’s probably because the previous time they came by we were still in the room.

We visited in the third week of October after they had apparently shut down the AC for the year, which made our room a little warm overnight but not terrible. They're in the middle of updating all of the rooms, which are extremely dated, and the workers were banging hammers and drills and pulling network cable through our hallway all day, but if you're there for the hot pools you don't really care. Parking was quite convenient right outside the back of the building, and unlimited access to the pools is the big perk. Breakfast down by the pools was not much to write home about and a little inconvenient, but if you're going straight to the pools anyway it doesn't matter too much since you're right there. Overall probably overpriced compared to other hotels in town unless you think unlimited pool access is priceless. Might be a different story after the rooms are all updated.

My husband and I visited over Valentine’s Day weekend. My husband booked it through a 3rd party vendor and when he called the resort/lodge to see about Valentines specials like flowers or chocolates he was told they could not help. We were able to check in quickly and the rooms were nice and clean. The robes thay were provided were great, especially when making the little walk to the springs. It would be nice if the pools were open a bit longer, especially on the weekends. We were able to score a free locker every time we visited the pool. They have several pools, all at different tenperatures. Some of the pools are supposed to be adults only but we found that wasnt really enforced. The walk back from the pool is thankully much shorter and again the robes are great. The breakfast buffet was standard. You can also order a "free breakfast" with limited options. They got both mine and my husbands orders wrong. We didn't bother complaining and the food was good despite being wrong. Parking is was easy and there are lots of things like restaurant nearby.

Pros: the lodge is close to the hot springs, admission is included with the hotel stay, and it's an easy walk to the pool area. Onsite parking is included and we were able to leave our car in the lot after check out the next day so we could walk around downtown Glenwood Springs. Our room was a suite with two queen beds and a little walk-out patio which had a drying rack for swimsuits. On arrival, front desk staff gave us a map of the property and explained all the different options at the hot springs. Breakfast is included and we were told to get a very early slot in order to reserve chairs at the pool the next morning (we ended up not doing this and it didn't matter).||Cons: This place needs some serious remodeling. Our suite was not worth the extra cost - it was outdated and dark. In the bathroom, there was black mold growing in the shower, the shower curtain was gross, and the towel bar was broken off the wall with the bar piece on the floor sticking out from under the sink. (How did housekeeping not notice this) I informed the front staff about it but it was not fixed during our stay. The carpet felt like it had not been vacuumed, beds were only so-so, and none of us slept very well. We ended up skipping the included breakfast and ate at a wonderful little local bakery a 4 minute walk away. We were very glad to leave the hotel and will stay elsewhere next time.||The hot springs themselves are pretty nice and an interesting experience. The variety of pools and water temperatures was enjoyable, and the water slide was fun.
