Rooms and location overall quite nice. The staff overall so far has been fantastic I do not recommend this hotel if you like to shower in privacy however. Anytime you shut the bathroom doors of the hotel with the shower on it sets of the in room smoke detector.
When I informed the on duty manager Leonard of this issue he was aware enough to know that he was unable to offer any solutions. Without the ability to switch rooms I must assume this issue is endemic to the building.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Glenwood Springs over the Valentine’s weekend! I can confidently say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish!

Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly Manager Leonardo, who made the check-in process smooth. I expressed my feelings about traveling with my son and that I wanted to make his stay as fun as possible, and if all possible, he could accommodate me in a higher level floor with a view. He took his time to look for availability, which he was able to fulfill my request in a very pleasant manner.

The breakfast did not disappoint. The hotel provided breakfast each morning with several selections.

My Valentine’s weekend was nothing but joy! Leonardo and his staff members generally dedicated to enhancing my experience, going above and beyond to ensure I felt valued and care for throughout my stay.

I can’t wait for my next opportunity to return!

Highly recommended!

We had 25 rooms bumped from another hotel 2 weeks before our trip. HIE Glenwood Springs came through and made us feel welcomed.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. We will definitely stay here again.

As the title says, these are all the plusses--very comfortable bed, quiet, and close enough to town to walk. However, what we paid versus what we got were a chasm apart. I understand supply and demand economics and it was Valentine's Day weekend, however, I was more than a little underprepared for the condition of the bathroom--broken floor tile, peeling wallpaper. The shower and tub were clean, which is most important, and I can only imagine that this room is scheduled to be overhauled soon (I hope) but in its current condition, it should not have been let out. It certainly should not have commanded what we paid for one night.

This hotel is in a great location and extremely clean. Staff is nice. However, I had to have my keys reactivated daily. In the middle of my stay they checked other guests into my room and activated keys to it so strangers were able to access my room while I was still a tenant in it! And my keys were deactivated. Which now leaves me wondering if every day my keys were deactivated if it was because they had activated keys to my room for others!

Not a great feeling of safety or security knowing other guests were given access to my room in the middle of my stay. In this day and age you'd think hotels would have a better way to flag the system to prevent this from happening. I understand accidents happen but this particular one is really unacceptable since it is a matter of safety and security.

Check-In was great. Lady behind the counter was extremely friendly. I stayed in a handicap room. I am not sure why, unless it was due to an entire girl’s basketball team also being there. However, I found it comfortable and quiet at that end of the hotel! Breakfast was average. It would have been nice to have “to-go” options. My bill was slid under my door, breezed through checkout. Another great lady at the counter! All in All great stay.

Our guests and ourselves checked in and were accommodated by Manager Derek he approved us to park our $180,000.00 Airstream Mercedes Travel Bus in front which was very nice and accommodating indeed! it’s often challenging to park the above aforementioned vehicle due to its size and length.

We checked into our assigned rooms, oddly

1 entrance wall was painted dark dingy blue and it had a horrible smell that was unbearable!! At first, we thought the smell was an animal or a strong commercial grade spray to mask the animal I.e., smell throughout a significant portion of the hotel, but after existing and re-entering our room it smelled toxic ! Like pesticides might have been used, it’s unknown?

After reading reviews their was the elm bug issues months prior, so perhaps it was the remnants of any spray that may have been used that stayed within our room nevertheless it was unbearable!

Derek offered us a new room 320 however after walking down the hall that room was near a noisy group party so that wasn’t an option.

We notice the entrance to our bathroom floor seemed to be in need of repair, as it felt unstable and wasn’t clean.

We decided to call down again, Derek said he would discount our room our final room bill with no incidentals charged was $164.00 Upon check out, we were never given a print out of our bill despite requesting during checking out.

At breakfast, we asked another guest if they smelled the distinctive odor and it was confirmed by 2 other guest that there were many dogs in the hotel, We love dogs. In fact, we grew up with many dogs in both of our families I.e., Saint Bernard’s German Shepherd and labradors however, this hotel did not meet the standards of Holiday Inn express in our opinion.

Furthermore, when I discussed it with the front desk lady in the morning, prior to checkout, she was rude, defensive, and quite Abrupt with an attitude that was dismissive.

We plan on disputing a portion of this unsubstantiated hotel bill with our bank and our guests as well, since we woke up with migraines and will also notify Corporate that this hotel in our opinion, may need an inspection from local health inspectors and possibly Corporate headquarters.

We were happy with our stay recently in a 2-queen 3rd floor room. We were lucky enough to have one of only a few with the higher ceilings which gave us a better feeling of space. The beds and pillows were great, especially the option of choosing either soft or hard that were both in our room. The A/C is a bit ferocious so we only used it over night to keep the temp. in check. The curtains provided a decent enough black out feel, but as with any hotel, I would suggest to have a sound machine as when facing the main road passing through the town, vehicles can be heard. We enjoyed the short walk into town (10-15 mins) and you could even walk to the Iron Mountain Springs in 10 or so mins if you wanted too. We didn't use the pool or hot tub, it's not got the best vibe as it's open to view out the front of the hotel, but does have a nice view of the mountains. The staff were all fantastic during our stay! The only thing that could really be improved is the breakfast, would like to see more choice and a bit healthier, but for a 2* place, the experience is about right and to be expected. There is very little room in the dining area for breakfast, so you might need to be flexible when coming downstairs to eat, and come back if packed out. They encouraged us to use the water bottle station in the decent-looking gym, but apparently the local water is good to drink too. We would stay here again!
