I'm much more familiar with the other bookstore just around the corner. But this place is an awesome hidden surprise. I think this will be my family's newest favorite place as much as the big more touristy place on Main Street. Make sure to be able to walk sideways when you go in this tiny little shop. 🙂

I had the worst experience in this book I’ve ever had. As an avid book reader I seek out local book stores as a place of refuge and wonder. I went in there to share my love and the wonder of books with my young son (3 year old boy), and it was clear we were not welcome. We were told not to touch anything, and scoffed at as I tried to explore the store with my son and let him pick out a book. Ultimately we left which sent my son into a tantrum because he was robbed of the opportunity to pick out a book. If you’re a parent wanting to share your passion for reading with your children, do not go here.

Sign outside claimed, "book sale." Lack of book organization, which I normally don't mind, but there were apparently only certain sale sections that were not labeled as such. When checking out my one book the woman told me the price, which wasn't discounted. I asked about the discount but she said it wasn't discounted bc it wasn't in a certain spot. I asked where the spots were and she pointed to an area on the floor and few shelves in a different spot. With the lack of organization I'm unsure how she was making the determination of where the sale started or ended. Ultimately, I felt a sale was advertised yet she was shady about it. Overall, weird vibe.

The woman running the store was super helpful to my friend and I who were looking to buy books for our hike on the CT. She was very kind and navigated us right to what we were each looking for. My friend and I left to go shop at another store completely forgetting to pay our parking toll. The lady realized we hadn't paid the meter while we were gone and was in the process of paying our toll for us right before we showed up! Thankfully we showed up in time but I couldn't believe the immense, sincere kindness she gave us. We both thoroughly enjoyed our books on the trail and can't thank her enough.

We stopped here on vacation and were so impressed with the lady running the store - she had a rich knowledge of so many authors and genres, and as a former curriculum advisor, she knew exactly what books would interest my two sons. We left with a bag full and everyone spent the afternoon reading. Definitely worth a stop!
