I love this little treasure box of a shop! The store features the Wolf & Wren line of letterpress greeting cards which are really unique and clever. I was looking for a wedding card and the sales associate directed me toward the ones in stock, and even better, the "misprints" rack. I ended up getting a misprint because it looked exactly the same as the "perfect" ones, with a minor dot pressed into the back. I love that they don't just throw away these minor imperfections and try to make sure they get used. Happy discovery, would love to come back and browse for more.

I stopped by Wolf & Wren today in need of a card for Mother’s Day and wanting something a bit more personal and heartfelt than the unfunny try-hard stuff I know I’d find from Hallmark. Wolf & Wren did not disappoint!

Lauren (the Wren to Liz’s Wolf) was working and I got to talking to her for a bit. She’s incredibly warm and friendly, talked a bit about the business, and even gave me a demonstration of the antique press in the shop. We even talked a bit about how we both spent some time living in Chicago and discussed some of the local bars we used to frequent.

I went in looking for one card and left with three as I found some others that are perfect for upcoming holidays and occasions. I couldn’t be happier, not just with the beautifully designed cards I found, but also with the great conversation and sense of community I felt with Lauren. I’m so happy Wolf & Wren is here and I will absolutely be returning!

I was setting up for a fundraiser and had a little time away to drop in and browse the shop. Thoughtful, heartfelt cards made locally, and I bought one I had to send to a friend. They have a card writing party on Saturdays, I think? There was a very interesting selection of pens and stationary items, including sealing wax and seals, notepads of various types, and interesting pens. Particularly, they had the Tachikawa School-G Manga pen, which is a plastic bodied, inexpensive fountain pen with a flexible nib. Flex nibs are difficult to find. And it carries an indelible drawing ink, so I have been able to write and draw with it and even cover it with watercolor and there's no smearing or any loosening of the lines. I am very impressed.
