Wow... It's been a long time since I've encountered someone so rude and unfriendly, especially in Auburn, and super especially in a bookstore of all places. When you call, a message says they don't take calls and encourage you to come in with your books to trade or sell. I'm a writer and I love all things books. It's only better sharing them with others, so I was all in for a first trip to this shop. I picked today thoughtfully thinking that the weekend might be too busy and interrupt others shopping.
I had no real expectations about these books or their value. What I didn't expect was to be snapped at literally right after I walked in the front door with my sincere hello and good afternoon. What happened to me today was EXACTLY what another negative review stated a year ago. Obviously, there's been no growth here for this human being. The fit that took place seemed to revolve around the number of books I brought in with me. I'm not sure why he became so angry. If it wasn't a good day or there wasn't enough time for the amount of books I brought, that's all the information I needed. No big deal. After all, I had no way of calling. (Which he says is because he is too injured to use a phone.) If Seinfeld came back they could have a "No Books for You!" episode, because that's exactly what this felt like. In Auburn. WOW! I am SO thankful that I ran into someone really really kind later at the grocery store to undo this experience.
