Dennis always solves whatever problem i am experiencing however there are always issues each semester with either books not available or student staff not knowing how to resolve issues having to turn to upper management for resolution. Not sure if the high turnover rate with student employees is the issue or the lack of trust or training the high turning over student employees as the issue. Clearly since each semester brings a new set of problems and I am yet to have one semester go seamlessly good regarding my experience at the bookstore. Perhaps after 4 years of issues that the problem isn't the student but the management. Not sure what would fix the continued issues arising from the bookstore lack of efficiency but there is something to be said about consistent staff which the bookstore has not had and management may be a ripe reason why no one stays at the bookstore as a student employment job but for a semester. If I didn't have problems every single semester I likely wouldn't have written a review about how difficult this bookstore has been regarding purchases for school books. If there are alternatives I suggest using them versus using this bookstore. I have used the book authors/title to gain access to other forms of books and gain access to purchasing options the school doesn't offer but that are available sometimes for a lower cost then through the bookstore with more content available for better studying outcomes. Use your own judgement but I wish someone would have told me about contacting the publishers when the books aren't available through the bookstore but you can provide what book you need, they will find out whether they can get you a copy cutting the middle man out. The final issue is due to the high turnover rate on employees that most of the student workers are rude or short tempered because people looking for their books that they ordered weeks in advance just had the student employee give your books to their friend that ordered their books yesterday. Meaning that employees help their friends who are irresponsible in ordering their books last minute by using the books that should be given to you, being you ordered your books with plenty of delivery time or in time for first delivery but the bookstore employee uses their position to serve their friends making sure their friends don't have to wait for their books that are now on back order since they can take your books from you and give them to their friend and make you wait for the back order to get filled which is wrong on so many levels but I was able to confirm this occurred to me at least once. If there is another way to buy books not through the bookstore I suggest going that route. Perhaps if the bookstore loses enough repeat business they will change their approach on filling student order's and not allowing student employees to benefit their friends before actual repeat customers or if caught doing this shaming the student so they won't do it again because it is wrong to engage in behavior like this as an adult you should be able determine what is right and what is wrong behavior without someone pointing that out to you.

Should honestly not be called a bookstore anymore, I don't believe I saw books except for in the TAAP pickup section. Should be called a swag store instead for all the UCCS apparel they sell. School products are very overpriced due to resident students having few accessible options; a tackle box there was sold for $20 while you can get an identical one at Walmart $12.

Cashier was rude and to top it off I live in another city and wasn't able to drive up to take my books on the day the rental was up. I call prior to see if they can give me an extra day the women bluntly told me No, I will be charged so I drove up in the cold with my toddler and sick at that just to return the book only to find out due to holidays they are granting people extra time. WOW, terrible customer service from these Kids they have working there, please be more knowledgeable and more Friendly. Charged me for a book that had no damage other than what was given to me when I rented it and said I caused water damage, which was so not true because I ended up using a digital copy for my class and this book was put on my shelf the whole semester, what a rip off and thats not right to do this to students.

I'm definitely biased since UCCS is my alma mater, and I work on campus. But this is a great little university bookstore! In addition to selling books for college courses, they have a nice variety of snacks, drinks, and UCCS-branded merchandise. But my favorite part is the section of reasonably priced art and office supplies!

Staff is friendly, but supplies are a overpriced. Books are also pretty expensive but the used ones are pretty cheap. Nice to be able to stop by and get some snacks and drinks between classes. They have a stand for small toiletries/medicines, and a stand for scantrons. Hours vary between semesters.

Got information my order was filled so I went in to get it, but it was no where to be found. So, they said I'll get your books for you, how nice. Not really, he then came back with only one of my book and told me the other ones were unavailable, also mentioned to me that the version I wanted wasn't available and said it's only a small difference for this one compared to the one that was COMPLETED in my order but this book was double the price. DONT TELL ME MY BOOKS ARE READY IF ITS NOT!

The staff is usually quite friendly, and UCCS employees get a 10% discount. Lots of food and drink options. Prices tend to be high, but that's expected. It's always clean. Usually it's not hard to find what you're looking for, but the staff is helpful if you're struggling.
