Went in to find a screw and they didn’t have exactly what I needed… neither did anyone else. John did his best to find one but couldn’t find a match… he ended up machining a screw by hand until the measurements were the same and the head space was correct… what a guy! This place will get my business whenever possible.

Tripp's Ace Hardware in Columbia,TN is a nice, newly remodeled store with friendly, courteous employees. I did not give them 5 stars, but this is not a reflection on this store, but rather a change I have noticed at Ace stores generally. I got spoiled a long time ago by Tusculum Ace in Nashville. I don't remember ever going there and not finding either exactly what I needed or an acceptable substitute, and that just doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Ace was, to me, a real, old time style hardware store. They seemed to have everything. Maybe I'm just old and lamenting the way things used to be, or maybe competition from Lowes, Home Depot, TSC, and even True Value has changed the way they do business. It's not at all like it used to be.

great for quick needs, they don't have the selection of Home Depot and Lowe's. Although, they have a rather good selection and are extremely helpful

Was there today for their fern sale, it was well organized and the staff was fantastic please support your local small business, we need more like these folks

The staff member who sharpens tools & chainsaw chains is awesome!!! I dropped off 3 chains last week for sharpening, got them back the following day & wow! They cut like butter now! At only 10 bucks a piece, I found it to be a great deal too! Thanks for caring about your work, especially in a world where less people seem to.

Went to Ace for a key fab for my truck. They only had only one guy that does them and they were incredibly busy. He took the time to program two fabs for us with excellent customer service. They have earned our business in the future! Staff was very busy but very nice! Thanks for a great job, Ace!

My husband came in today to purchase a power tool (Wilwaukee Impact Wrench)that was in a locked cabinet. The person who was attempting to help him said he (my husband) would need to get the key from another person working there. When my husband went to get the man with the key, the man never acknowledged him. While we understand he was busy, customer service should been extended with at least a simple “I’ll be with you in a moment “. Not to mention, the original salesman should have taken care of him in the first place. He is purchasing the wrench at another store.

We have always loved our local Ace but the customer service seems lacking a lot lately. It was never this way when it was Columbia Ace Hardware (previous owners). While is beautifully organized, if you can’t get the help you need when coming in to buy something, the store layout doesn’t really matter.
