Imagine a cross between Harry Potter and The Handmaid's Tale, and you'll have a glimpse of the design sense and politics of this shop. It is connected to a small new college focused on "classical" studies rooted in Evangelical Christian tradition. Which makes the "ancient monasteries" vibe of its logo, t-shirt, and coffee cup art surprising, for their lack of authenticity. Evangelicals have no monasteries. Those are a Catholic thing. This store has nothing to do with Catholicism.

The nice woman at the counter was, at least, honest that gay people are unwelcome at their school. But, she kindly took my money for a good latté, so there was at least civility.

The shelves prominently feature books advocating Christian Nationalism. All beautifully arranged, of course, like a kitchen in the Republic of Gilead.

This is the perfect spot for a special coffee break. Wonderful pastries. The background music is restful. Lovely decor. While you're here, browse the bookstore. A full selection of espresso drinks. Being connected with New Saint Andrews College, the clientele are all respectful. The staff are cheerful.

I didn't get coffee here, but the book selection is great! They cater to students a bit more, but great content to be had by all. Large back room allows for good study areas, individually or with groups. Attracts a friendly crowd, and staff were excellent.

Wonderful place. The staff is super nice. Their Chai is the Oregon chai concentrate, but they have a nice variety of flavors for coffee and other things. The staff is also super helpful, as in if you ask if they can make something, even if it's not on the menu as long as they know what it is, they would at least try. They do have select pastries on Saturdays that are so good, but sell out pretty quickly.

The coffee wasn’t good. Pastries were dry.

What I didn’t know before going in and later found out is that it’s owned by a Christian fundamentalist group who want to strip away women’s rights.

I love this coffee shop! I came in during a visit from out of town, and it is awesome! They have dairy alternative milk options, so I ordered a caramel latte with oat milk - the price was super reasonable, and the beverage was EXCELLENT. Highly recommend!

P.S. I'd also like to note that unlike a previous review, my experience as a regular person unaffiliated with christ church or the school was absolutely positive. I'm not from Moscow or in any way part of the crowd here and felt totally at ease in this coffee shop! If one's goal is to get a good cup of coffee, they won't be disappointed.
