I’ve traveled a lot of places and never been to a place like this. I had a cold beer and nice conversation but beware, you can buy guns, ammo, knives. Hey this is California cowboy country and this is how they do things. I thought it was cool but could see how some may not. The sign says it all, don’t go if it’s not you.

The last of it’s kind in California. No other place has both an alcohol and firearms sales license in the same building. Fun history and good people.

Quite an interesting place. Very cool with the bar, a few cases of ammo, some rifles, a few fishing items, and a smattering of knives. Definitely would visit again. Wish they had more of a selection of ammo and knives.

I choose a gun that I wanted from the on-line site Gallery of Guns and it was shipped to the Sportsman. Four days after ordering, it arrived and I went down and filled out the paper work with Steve at Sportsman. Waited the mandated 10 day waiting period and picked up my gun. Steve at Sportsman was courteous and professional. I will be doing more business in the future with him and highly recommend The Sportsman and for that matter the site Gallery of Guns. Thanks again Steve!!

Everyone talks about the alcohol and firearms which is understandable. It is unique to see under one roof. However, the real reason for visiting should be the jukebox. It has been a decade since I was there last so things may have changed, but they had a jukebox packed with country records and it was still working. Classic sounds from a bygone era, it makes The Sportsman one of my favorite spots to have visited. Just imagine….you could possibly sip a Colt 45, purchase a .45 caliber revolver, and listen to an old Hank 45 at the same time. Outstanding.
