I stayed at the bunkhouse two different years now while working at a resort near by and I always have had an amazing time. They have a very welcoming environment. The people that work there are always extremely excited to interact with guests and offer recommendations for the surrounding area. The place is very well maintained and as I solo traveler I have always felt incredibly safe staying here. They are amazing and I would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area!!

I stayed at the bunkhouse for 6 nights and fell in love with this hostel. Very cozy, quiet and clean place to stay with very easy access to and from Vail mountain. The house is also full of genuinely friendly people and staff that interact with each other as more of a family than just friends. I'm glad I was able to be a small part of that during my stay. The energy/vibe at the bunkhouse is addictive and I can't wait to go back.

Excellent location, easy parking and short bus ride to vail transportation station. Bus stop is right in front of the property. Super convenient.

Full kitchen, clean and spacious bathroom area, 3 double door large fridge and lovely atmosphere.
Bring your own shampoo, soap, hairdryer etc. Upper bunk was hard for me to climb in and out, would be a bit challenge for tall people for sure. Industrial strength ear plugs are a must if you are not a deep sleeper.
I don't remember seeing a grocery store, but stop by the Safeway on your way to the hostel to get best price and selections.
Overall I would highly recommend the place for your ski vacation at Vail or BC.

I had a great stay at The Bunkhouse in Minturn, Colorado. The place was super clean, which is the most important thing for me. It was also very quiet—no loud partying or noise. The dog was super sweet and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Plus, it’s only 10 minutes away from Beaver Creek Resort, which made it super convenient after a day of snowboarding. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return soon!

Exceptional privacy in the bunk "pods". They have a great kitchen with pro level equipment and utensils! Extremely clean baths and quarters. Air quality very good in bunk rooms, high ceiling, large and staff attendant to ventilation and heat. Will return. Friendly vibe, not much crowd when I stayed.

The Bunkhouse is a rare gem. While searching for quick lodging in the area, I quickly discovered there were few options, with most being anywhere from simply overpriced to grotesquely expensive. The Bunkhouse, on the other hand, offers overnight lodging at a cost that feels like a bargain in comparison—but don’t mistake that for meaning the Bunkhouse is "cheap."

The facilities are exactly as advertised. It is a hostel, so if you’re expecting a king-size bed all to yourself, this isn’t the place for you. However, if you’re looking for an authentic stay with positive vibes, friendly staff, outgoing guests, and maybe even the inside scoop on where the best backcountry skiing is that weekend, you can’t go wrong.

I, for one, love places like the Bunkhouse, as they are becoming few and far between. If you’re on a mountain adventure and need a place to rest your head before your next alpine start, this is the spot.

The Bunkhouse was an amazing experience! Everyone at the Bunkhouse was traveling solo to Vail/BC to ski/snowboard, ice climb, avalanche school, etc.... There is a large common room with plenty of couches and a big kitchen. I was impressed on that there were a number of impressive cooks preparing healthy meals, etc... I just had a yogurt in the AM, ate a bowl of chili on the slopes, and went out to dinner at one of the amazing restaurants in Minturn (all within steps of the Bunkhouse). Nancy keeps the Bunkhouse very clean and everyone was extremely respectful of the other guests. As a solo skier, it was great to come back to a friendly environment with lots of interesting people to talk to at night. Most nights a guest or two would join me for dinner. I usually like to ski solo but it was nice to ski with a few people at BC or Vail. The shuttle stops directing in front of the Bunkhouse and its 8/10 mins to Vail. BC requires a 2nd bus but it's pretty easy. You can also get a free bus to Vail/Eagle airport, although I just booked the EPIC van for $45 for convenience. I did have to take an Uber to the grocery store but otherwise free buses worked great. I was shocked how inexpensive it was to spend a week skiing in Vail but I think most people stay at the Bunkhouse to enjoy the company of fellow travelers. Everyone I met at the Bunkhouse was very impressive and engaging. I also greatly appreciated the respective atmosphere. No heavy drinking or rude people. Just likeminded outdoor people looking for adventure!

The Bunkhouse is the only place I stay in Eagle County. Nancy, Fisher and Diamond are the best hosts. Getting to Vail and Beaver Creek is super easy with bus service a 100 feet from the front door. The full kitchen makes cooking a breeze, and there are affordable dining options in Minturn. Grocery stores are located 5 miles away in West Vail and Avon. Try it! You won't be disappointed if you are a hostel person. Love you guys. Ira Curry, Salida, CO.
