Wow! This place is so cool! As others have said, it's very well curated. Even their gifts are nice and not typical bookstore cheesy. I went there to buy a puzzle as a gift and they have an incredible selection of beautiful puzzles. I can't wait to go back and peruse! The books they have on display all look intriguing. Many wonderful coffee table books available too.

I ADORE this bookstore! The very first time I ever went in, the shop owner made my entire night and I laughed so much. They’re always so welcoming and friendly!

Their curated book selection is fantastic. I’m always following releases on GoodReads and B&N, yet they always have other new ones that are off the mainstream radar. Iron Flame recently released and it was sold out everywhere at the major outlets - but I knew I could count on Book Catapult to have it in stock and not thrashed! I loved seeing their pre-order stack ready for pick up too, it makes my heart real happy. ?❤️

My favorite bookstore in San Diego! The folks who run this shop do such a wonderful job filling the shelves with treasures. When I stopped in last week, I found so much enticing new fiction on the first display table, I lingered there for a long time before moving over to the shelves. It’s like they combed through my Goodreads account, and put together a table of books meant just for me. I could easily spend all day in here!

Whenever I need gifts for kids, this is my go-to spot. Puzzles, picture books, and kids lit fills the back 1/4 of the shop, and there are tons of cool finds. Books from local authors are often highlighted, if you want to shop hyper-local.

Definitely worth going out of your way for a trip to this South Park gem!

My favorite bookstore in San Diego. It’s the perfect spot to find something new for the reader who isn’t quite sure what to read next, because they curate their collection and place bookseller recommendations along the shelves. They aren’t a massive space and therefore will not have the same volume of books as a big-box store, but they will also order anything they don’t have in stock.

So many great books pleasingly displayed alongside gift items and sundries (actually, I'm not sure what sundries are, but I think The Book Catapult has them). Currently, in this autumn season and spine-tingley month, they are featuring a lot of creepy-crawly atmospheric titles. I
t was hard to buy just one. I got Night Side of the River: Ghost Stories by Jeanette Winterson and Paved Paradise: How Parking Explains the World by Henry Grabar. Chills!

One of my favorite independent bookstores is the Book Catapult. They have a wide variety of books (current releases, fantasy, history, food, biographies, and more) and such an interesting curation of books (art, social reform, etc). I always find something new and interesting to read. I also like all of the smaller gift items, cards, and bookish things in the back of the store. I’ll be back soon!
