Had the pleasure of working with Desiree for the group rates. The customer service was AMAZING. She was able to meet all of the needs of our group including switching ski days for some of us who became sick, sign some of us up last minute for ski schools, and refund lift tickets and rentals for some of us that got injured. Ski conditions were awesome! No lines for the lifts, rentals were very nice, trails had fluffy fresh powder. This place is a real hidden gem!

Great skiing mountain. Came here in 12/26 and 12/27. Lots of greens and blues open. We stayed on most of the green trails with a few blue mixed in. The blues were somewhat hard for my group but do-able (we usually ski green, blue, and black in New England).

Mountain was a lot of powder with some greens groomed. Great views from the top and no wait at the lifts (it was a weekday). Main lift to summit runs all day but other lift runs shorter hours. Only downside is that to get to the summit from the very bottom, you do need to take two lifts. The first lift is mostly for beginners and leads to a teaching area (however there is no bunny hill or anything smaller to start a new skier on). If you plan your trials right you can end up at the summit lift and avoid the beginner lift which is nice.

This place would be a 5 star if you’re an advance or expert level. Very little area to teach your own and usually there’s class on those few places.

I consider myself advance on snowboard, but we paid for my twins boys (ski) and wife (snowboard) lesson. $180 each or cheaper if you have lift pass n gears.

The instructor is a hit or miss. My twins got an experience instructor and they had a blast. However my wife didn’t learn anything for 2 hours. 🤦🏻‍♂️ her instructor was new. She didn’t even learn how to get on the lift😡

Ended the good old way of teaching, by bringing her up an easy one and she learned that way.

As a beginner skier, I do not have much to compare to. That being said, my family's two days at Sunlight were amazing. We were lucky enough to get tons of new snow. The entire mountain and views from the top were indescribably beautiful.
The instructors for my lesson were so good I finished my second day, comfortably, on Blue runs. How they taught a mid-50s guy to ski is a mystery, but I thank them dearly.
Although it was President's Day weekend, there was never a wait at the lifts and several runs I was alone or it was just my wife and I for most of the run.
Unfortunately for Sunlight, google only allows 5 stars. Their customer service and vibe in general deserve 6+ stars. Every single employee made you feel like you were visiting family. Instead of employees working at a business, it felt like they welcomed you into their home and said, "Come on in and see how we live, you're going to love it."
Sunlight, thank you for sharing your mountain with me and my family.

Decided to try a local mountain off of the big passes, and was delighted with my experience at sunlight! Prices are incredibly affordable for a day pass + rentals compared to any nearby competition. For beginners or experienced skiers, this place has runs for all levels. Being nearby to the hot springs in glenwood springs is also a plus!

I can't say enough great things about this resort. It has everything a skiing-loving person could want, but in a low key, laid back, family friendly way. And perhaps more important, it's as opposite from the big corporate Colorado resorts as possible. It's exactly perfect the way it is. No lines, no selling your kidney for a lift ticket... just skiing on a beautiful mountain. The varied terrain is amazing and has as many challenges as one could want while skiing in the most beautiful of mountain scenery. Along with challenging terrain it has equally relaxing, pure fun, long green runs that take you though the easy route of those incredible mountains. Most importantly, did I mention there were no lift lines?

Sunlight is a beautiful gem! Has all the views and great CO snow but isn't crowded. The lifts are definitely a little ancient but our family had a blast at this resort. Everyone is so nice! Has runs for everyone! We stayed at the Gnarly Inn at the bottom which is an experience in itself. About 20 min from Glenwood Springs.

I give this resort 4.5 stars! It would receive 5 stars if the kids in the rental shop were a little better trained. This resort shined in other areas though! First, it's very uncrowded and has some great long runs. The lifts were not the greatest but so many times I would look ahead and behind me on a run and...I was the only one there. The staff was super friendly, from the lift attendants to the lodge cafe workers to Bill in the locker office. The food was great and reasonably priced compared to other resorts.
We did not have great snow unfortunately and there were some icy patches but did I mention that I had the mountain to myself many times? I improved so much. We put a 13 year old in ski lessons the first morning and not only were they super reasonable, she graduated to blues by the second day.
We visited NYE weekend. The first day we arrived at 8.30 and parked right in front of the entrance. Second day we arrived at almost 10 and had a 1 or 2 minute walk. We used our Indy passes and it was super easy. Just show them at the lift ticket window in exchange for lift tickets. Only once was the beginner lift busy. Again, the lifts could themselves could be better (my boots and skis felt like 500 pound weights without foot rests) but if you want wide open spaces to ski, this is the place!
