I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences with this department. This is the 2nd time they shut off my water and to make matters worse they did it on a Friday so I can go without water all weekend. My bill says payments are due on the 10th and today is 8/4 and these folks decided it would be better to cut off the water to my house rather than call and notify residents that they need immediate payment. These folks must pocket the $25 disconnect fees they collect, and presumably they needed that $25 just in time to party this weekend. You should be ashamed to work in a public service department and have no decency for the general public.

I came home with my water turned off. I've never been late with a payment in the two years I've lived here. I hardly ever get a bill and when I do it's a couple days before my bill is due. I definitely didn't receive a notice that they were going to shut my water off. I go into my backyard and the lid to my water valve is propped open with a stick. I thought it was the local meth heads or mayor messing around having fun on a Monday so I just turned it back on because there wasn't a lock on it. Turns out it was Shannon Hills Water Department! And I get to pay a $25 connection fee.

I called to ask if the bill was correct because its the same despite us not living there. She actually told me, and I quote “A toliet uses 10 gallons of water with each flush”. TEN. The rep sounded offended asking me why I left it on then (instead of answering the question). Anyway, I realized 3 things that day:
1) they will treat you differently depending on the day. They have been nice before, they just get country-big in them britches some days.
2) this person never sold a house and had an inspection or buyers use a toliet while viewing….I guess
3) Ok real answer - theres a $40 min bill even if you dont use a drop!!!

You rarely ever get your bill and if you do, it's maybe a few days before it's due. Then they shut it off 10 days after the due date. I didn't find this out until after I called to complain. The rude lady on the phone said that it says on every bill that it will be shut off on the 20th if unpaid. Guess what? She lied. When I did receive my next bill, it said nothing of the sort. I don't know of any other essential utility company that will shut your service off in that short amount of time, with no notice. Dealing with them literally makes me want to move out of the area.

Very unprofessional, the payment system takes over 72 hrs for them to get the payment. They charge a 25.00 disconnect fee if you are on a list 72 hrs before the shut off. You are forced to pay the 25.00 no matter what. Also you can't pay that online, you have to give them your cc info over phone or go in.

I've lived in Shannon Hill for over a year and I've had to contact the water department regarding questions about billing on filling a pool, to how can I pay online. They are always so friendly and helpful.

We always pay our bills on time and never missed a payment , today we wake up and our water is shut off without notice or anything. Our bill was paid!

If there were a way to do less than one star that is what this place deserves. Along the lines of what others have posted it should be reiterated that they are very inconsistent on billing, have no timeline whatsoever when they will shutoff service and do not give any notices that they you are late or that they are going to shutoff water. Obviously it’s ideal to pay your bill on time but things in life do happen but for a company to not give any warning whatsoever is completely unprofessional. Of course I guess what can you expect when the mayor is a felon.
