My favorite bookstore in town. Found some absolutely stunning books that not only are a pleasure to read but look fantastic on my bookshelf. Which ever genre you prefer this place has it in spades.

Hadn’t been over to Second Story Books in a few years now since the kids have gotten older. We were excited to see the move across the hall with more space but thankfully the organization and “true book nerd finds”, as my wife would say, were still present. Through the years this has been our family’s go to store for our homeschooling book needs. Great prices and always an attentive staff every time we make a trip here. On this particular trip our son even bought an older print of a classic for his Mother’s Day gift. Thank you Second Story Books for the memories and molding of a family through printed works.

It is very hard to not spend all my money here. Their new space is incredible. More books, more natural light! The ladies running this place are lovely and helpful. Free pickings outside the door! Prices average $7-$10 I'd say, which is more than reasonable given the curation.

Super cute little bookstore. Very well organized. Free cookies out for the kids. And a free "rescue shelf" outside with some pretty decent titles! A great gem nestled in Durango.

We attempted to come here twice on our trip through the area, killing time until it opened, and my-oh-my was it worth it. Something about used books soothes the sole. We had stopped at a new book store in town, but it didn't scratch the itch. This is a very cool, 2 story book store (as evidenced by the name). The organization is on par with a library. Looking for a small fiction book, and judging every book by its cover, the owner somehow knew that wrapping books and putting synopsis tags on the outside was all we needed. We read the summary, thought it was interesting and the owner commented, "That’s a really good book, I really enjoyed it, its about 2 boys in Soviet Russia in the War”. This turned out to be very true and we are currently enthralled in reading the book. It was clear that the owner has a passion for books, knowns her books, and is able to have fun with the dissemination of books. I'm extremely pleased that we got the opportunity to visit! Such a cute spot with an amazing collection of used and unique books for reasonable prices. Even if you don’t plan to purchase a book - the interior is beautifully setup and worth a stop inside. Whenever we return to Durango this will be a must stop to see what they have in store.
