Robin helped us with out breastfeeding journey and I am so thankful we found her and the support group! Robin listened to our concerns and helped us with our supply issue. She is so knowledgeable and if she doesn't know the answer she will research and find the answer. The support group here is so lovely to go and just talk with other moms and get out of the house and be somewhere its okay if your baby is crying and not feel pressure. Cannot recommend this place enough if you are breastfeeding!

I am so thankful to have been able to work with Robin Kaplan at the San Diego Breastfeeding Center during my breastfeeding and pumping journey with my firstborn son. Even with some lactation training myself, I hit rock bottom with multiple feeding issues and was about to give up when I called the center to book an appointment with Robin. I’m so glad that I did because Robin was a GODSEND. I began working with her when my son was around 2 months old and continued working with her until he was almost 1 year old. I had a plethora of feeding problems from painful latching issues and constant uncomfortable plugged ducts to wrong pumping flange size and breast refusal. Robin was extremely knowledgable and approachable about every topic, yet most importantly, she LISTENED. Sometimes, I felt like our sessions were a combination of lactation assistance and mental health therapy. I always left her office feeling confident, in control, and aware of next steps. I also loved that Robin always shared WHY she suggested a specific treatment option, which is so important to have a practitioner who knows all of the up-to-date evidence-based information. I cannot recommend Robin enough. She saved my breastfeeding journey that I’m luckily still on today with my now almost 19-month-old son. Thank you so much, Robin!

I want to take a minute to give a long overdue shoutout to the person who
Singlehandedly changed my breastfeeding experience: Yvonne. As a first time mom, breastfeeding is a ton of work. Now add in a poor latch from tongue tie, some reflux and a sleep deprived Mom… I was an absolute mess when I first went to see Yvonne and she just jumped right in and met us where we were at. Everytime we left a session with her, we left hopeful and smiling. She is sunshine in human form and truly the most encouraging person we could have asked for. Your breastfeeding journey is a very vulnerable time and to have someone who is a cheerleader and champion for you and your baby to succeed is HUGE. I most certainly would have given up if not for Yvonne! She patiently listened to my millions of questions, went over everything as much as my mom brain needed, sent the most through follow up information via the portal, and recommended so many products and things we still use today. My baby absolutely adores her, as do my partner and I. Flash forward to my 3 month old baby who ended up getting his tongue tie clipped and is now the chunkiest and happiest boy who breastfeeds like a champ. This is due in large part to the help we received from Yvonne and San Diego Breastfeeding Center! We cannot recommend Yvonne enough and are so so appreciative for everything she did for us and our baby!

I am so grateful for the support I received from the San Diego Breastfeeding Center. I worked with Lana immediately postpartum, who caught lip and tongue ties in my baby that were overlooked at the hospital. Her guidance, knowledge and kindness allowed me to meet my goal of breastfeeding when I was at the point of giving up due to severe pain. Months later I met with Vicky, who helped me to navigate some challenges that had come up at the 10-month mark, and she proactively helped me plan for the eventual process of weaning from daytime pumping at work. The compassion and knowledge of the consultants at the center are second to none, and I have so much respect and gratitude for the work they are doing.

Non solicited review because I can’t thank them enough for all the dedication, attention and kindness. Vicky and Robin are true angels. They’re compassionate and very knowledgeable. They do everything they can do help you with your goals and support you and baby’s journey. I saw Vicky a couple times because of shallow painful latch. She helped me in so many ways! In addition to the latch, heavy supply and babys ties, there is some signs of possible gut distress and reflux going on with my baby and Robin has been a great support in that matter. Postpartum alone is hard enough and it’s so important to find the right support group. Don’t hesitate to reach out to these ladies if you need help, I promise it will make it so much better!!

Amazing!!!! I was skeptical at first about going to a lactation consultant. I was worried that they would judge me for using a binky or not wanting to pump or wanting to supplement with formula but that was not the case. They’re so respectful and kind. I felt taken care of every step of the way, and they helped me successfully reach my goals in a way that respected my preferences. they answered each message promptly and got me appointments when I needed them. The office is very clean and comfy. The environment felt very welcoming and relaxing for me and my baby. Would recommend to ever with questions or concerns big or small! The monthly newsletter gives great info and they have a support group.

This business is a beacon of light in what could otherwise be a very daunting journey on navigating breastfeeding and the post-partum world. I saw Vicky Gellis approximately 10 days after my delivery. I was at maximal levels of anxiety, stress, and pain in the setting of latching issues, engorgement, and inadequate weight gain for my little one. Vicky was empathic, non-judgmental, knowledgeable, and organized — hitting on all of our main concerns, incorporating our preferences and values into our treatment plan, documenting our way forward, and sending very thoughtful, timely check-ins afterward. With her help, we were able to make it through a very arduous time. Our little one is gaining weight like a champ, breastfeeding is significantly more comfortable, and I am confident that Vicky can guide us through any other hurdle we hit down the road.
