LOVED THIS BOOKSTORE! This is my first time coming here and I gotta say I was totally overwhelmed. Used books, collectable books, new books, DVDs and much much more! Prices are fair for both hardcover and softcover books. The employees were great. They meet u at door and ask if you need help immediately. Sorry to say but goodbye Barnes and Noble.. I'm doing all my book worm shopping here....come spend some $$$ šŸ™‚

One of the best collections of any bookstore I have ever been in. The shelves are overflowing, both with tons of copies of popular books and unique ones youā€™re unlikely to find elsewhere. The store is deceptively huge as well. The used books are all reasonably priced and in good shape. The one downside is there isnā€™t a store catalogue to search for a particular book but digging is part of the fun and the sections are well categorized. Bonus shoutout to the two kitties that live here!

My first introduction to the Recycle Bookstore was a visit about a decade ago after my cousin gifted me a $25 gift certificate for my birthday. Iā€™ve been a regular ever since. I love walking on the creaky floors through the stacks of books and seeing the cats relaxing at the front or in their trees or on a stool. The store is always peaceful, the staff is nice, and it makes a great escape on windy or rainy fall/winter days. Parking is easy, and so is commuting by bus! They have used books as well as a selection of new releases, so I like to come here first before resorting to online orders if thereā€™s a book Iā€™m on the hunt for. Most recently, I was looking to own a copy of Like Water for Chocolate (hoping to reread while watching the new Max series) and I found several within minutes of beginning to browse, including a first edition that I took home! No doubt Iā€™ll keep coming back.

This place has a great selection of curated books together with exciting nooks and crannies which seem haphazard but are actually sensibly organized. Every inch of the store is fascinating with books categorized in a whimsical yet appealing manner. There would be some wide-eyed discovery as you go through the shelves here. Of course there is a cat with a very strong personality! The only thing that kept me from giving the store five stars is that there was a sign which stated something similar to ā€˜Only for employees, trespassers would be kicked outā€™! Now, ā€˜kickedā€™ is a little too harsh!

The whole place is a calm vibe within the wall of great literary treasures. The children's section is just adorable and I love the homie old-school vibe. The smell of old books is soothing and comforting to me. Hard to control me from buying everything. Parking out front and great prices. They also buy books on certain days. Love love loves this store.

This place is just fantastic and deceptively HUGE, it doesn't look it from the front but this place just keeps going. Every city needs a great used book store (ideally at least 5), Recycle absolutely qualifies as that for San Jose. There is an amazing diversity in topics, with great depth and quality within each of the topics. Their kid's selection is impressive as well! The prices are fair, they aren't rock bottom but they are absolutely fair and when books are damaged, they discount appropriately.
I've never walked out with less than a half dozen books I am pumped to dive into. Also, my daughter LOVES that there are cats who hang around and appreciate a bit of attention.

It's absolutely beautiful, and I found many different books Iā€™ve been wanting to buy. The prices are great, and buying secondhand is wonderful.

Old school bookstore. Complete with well packed shelves and a maze like layout. One of those rare (and becoming more so) book stores you can truly enjoy and get ā€œlostā€ in.
