Great pit stop to grab a quick drink and snack on US-285. It was easy to grab what you need, great staff, plenty of options, and well located. The gouda cheese and the drinks were refreshing and delicious for a snack on the road. Worth a stop.

Wow, what an amazing shop for travelers! I intended to buy several items, but I ultimately decided to cook fresh meals for our entire trip. This place is truly a hidden gem in Fairplay. It's so clean and organized, and the owner is wonderful and incredibly polite. Keep up the great work—see you at the top! ☺️

Shortly after entering the store we were approached by the owner. She asked if our dog was a service animal and for what disability. I kindly let her know that our dog is a service animal for anxiety and depression. Her response was to tell me that she didn’t believe me and that those disabilities are not covered under the American Disability Act. I went to get my phone where I have both a letter from my doctor and proof of training. She quickly said that there was no documentation to show this. Because my husband hates conflict especially in public, he quickly took our dog to the car and sat with him. Had this not been the only grocery store in town I would have happily followed him. Instead I quickly got the few things we needed and prayed I didn’t have an anxiety attack in the store. I would invite this store owner to become more knowledgeable about the American Disability Act and the rights of people and their service dogs.

Restrooms in the market are closed and they want you to go outside and use port o potties that are essentially in the front of the store (gross) to use the restroom. And in the middle of Winter. Not very accommodating to customers at all. And no sanitizer so people are using the toilet and walking into a grocery store with dirty hands.

Stopped in to pick up a few things while staying in Fairplay. It's a nice little store with a decent selection of items. The prices are higher than regular grocery stores in larger towns but that's to be expected. Nice to be able to pick stuff up in town instead of having to drive to Breckinridge.

Cashiers are rude to anyone who isn’t from Fairplay. My boyfriend and I went in separate times alone and the same two women were outright rude while checking out. giggling with the customer infront of me but then flip of a switch when she leaves. weird behavior

Excellent selection!! So many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. The store is extremely clean, well-stocked, and easy to navigate. We scored some great deals on organic greens, vegan “cheese,” and a HUGE glass jar of natural peanut butter! If you need healthy food- or any food really- near 285 in Colorado, this is your spot!

This place is essentially stealing from their locals - they need to get shut down.

1. Check their ‘best by’ dates. I’ve seen bags of chips expired more than a year prior to purchase. Almost all of their breads are either expired or within a week of expiration. There is ZERO quality control. It’s been multiple times where I’ve gotten home and had to throw out several items I’ve purchased.

2. They overprice well beyond what could be considered acceptable for a high country grocery store in a lower income community.

3. Just bought a regular sized bag of ruffles. It was $6.59 and was labeled ‘XXXL ruffles’. Do they think their customers are imbeciles or can’t read? It wasn’t even a family sized bag of chips… $6.59?!?

The FairPlay community is not a rich community. It’s disgraceful they are allowed to over price and sell rotten products to their customers.

I’ve also read on Nextdoor that Prather’s has banned customers who have ‘bad mouthed’ the store. Extremely disappointing. We try to avoid it at all costs but considering it’s the only store in a 30 minute radius sometimes it’s unavoidable and they take advantage of that.
