A surprising little newsstand find in the heart of Paso Robles! I noticed this a few months ago, but decided to pop in this weekend and check-it out. I wasn't really expecting much as now-a-days you're lucky to find a few local papers and a small handful of trashy magazines, if anything, at most gas stations/convenience stores. This, place, however, had a pretty large wall of magazines and stocked as many newspapers as you could reasonably expect in a town this size a bit far from major cities. They had plenty of copies of the Wall Street Journal, well, I got the third to last one, as well as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and both the San Luis Obispo & Paso Robles local papers.
I'll definitely stop in again next time I'm in town! Hope it sticks around!

On mid week/mid afternoon, did a quick stop to fill almost empty tank and use a restroom while traveling south from SF to LA.
1. Must praise the MUCH cleaner bathroom! than those found just off the freeway exits, which more than often have gross looking bathrooms and are tp-less.
2. The woman clerk did look at me carefully when l entered to ask to use the restroom before filling up. [ l had parked at pump /locked car].
3. Must ask/get restroom Key from the cleck inside the store- which for many seems an inconvenience BUT for a woman- it's a good sign for safety while using the outside (around the bldg) entry bathroom - as you most probably get recorded on video retrieving and returning the key.
4. Overall, clean store, CLEAN women BATHROOM well supplied, gas pump working and clean, thou location is a bit away from fwy, it is still and easy off /on to the fwy. And you get to see a bit of the beautiful downtown of Paso Robles.

Doris is a GEM. My friends and I spent the weekend at the Inn and she was our brightest part of our days. What a lovely woman. This review is for Doris!

The friendliest and most fun employees I’ve ever experienced at a gas station by far. Will be stopping here every time I come through town. Thanks for being so lovely!

The nicest place ever, come buy a scratcher and cold drink, and say hi to the gang. Don't pay attention to Christina Clark's review, the best people work at Pioneer and it's the only place with an actual news stand where you can buy an actual magazine or newspaper made of paper...so cool.

NOT OPEN 24 HOURS. I walked there to get something to drink in the middle of the night. So after looking up a place that was open 24 hours so I could get some water late at night, they were actually, not so conveniently closed. 24 hours? Why say you are open when you’re not?

Ridiculously overpriced. Paying $4.59 for something that is $2.59 at the grocery store is why these places go out of business…
