I love history, and especially love museums.

Well visiting, it was just so hard to process how much everyone had to go through, to get to where we are at in society right now.

This is still a small little museum, for a small town, in a smaller part of Idaho, but I still loved it.

It shows so much more about gold mining, as well as how they were able to get across the planes.

Truly remarkable place, and I'm so happy I had the chance to be here

Had a delightful weekend in Murphy for Lizard Butte Kennel Club scent work trial. Visited museum ... incredible display of bits and spurs and much about Owyhee County history. Took several couple mile walks into surrounding desert and saw many wildflowers in bloom.

This museum is by far the best museum in Idaho, with genuine and well-maintained artifacts on display that educate people on the history of the county and the state. More importantly, the staff here are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, all eager to share their museum with visitors. It may not have a state-of-the-art building like the State Museum, but is a much better museum nonetheless. Kudos to the young museum director and his enthusiastic staff! We will certainly bring our family and friends to this awesome museum in the future!

Fantastic place to go! We had the best time! Several songs on the Piano was played for us. We were given demonstrations of the record players. The best of all was a ride, in the over 100yr old car! Not just any ride around the block either. We went off road too! ☺️ Spent several hours of great informative history and just so much fun. Staff are so nice. Thank you! 😁

Get out and explore our OLD WEST history at OWYHEE OUTPOST DAYS. Cattle drive, horned toad races, music, dancing and much more.
Great fun for all ages and so o educational.
