Review for Microtel Hotel||We stayed at Microtel Hotel this past week during blizzard-like conditions. While the staff was very kind and the room was comfortable, the billing issues we encountered completely overshadowed our stay and caused unnecessary stress.||I initially requested an early check-in through Booking.com for $40 or even a later check-in for $20. Both requests were denied online. However, after sitting in my car for an hour in the cold, I went into the hotel, and the lady at the front desk was very kind and accommodated me for an early check-in after all. Unfortunately, she accidentally charged my card again, which led to major financial complications.||On Monday, I was charged $255 by Booking.com, which I had enough in my account to cover. However, the front desk staff charged my card an additional $237, plus $20 (presumably for the early check-in). The staff member admitted, “Oops, I made a mistake and debited your card again, but I caught it and quickly reversed it.” Unfortunately, the reversal didn’t matter because the funds were still deducted from my account, leaving me unexpectedly short on funds.||The next day, my fiancé had to deposit $250 into my account just so we could cover the unexpected charges. We thought the situation was resolved, but later in the week, when I asked to stay another night, I was charged an additional $179. What should have been a $255 stay ballooned into a series of charges totaling $255, $237, $20, and $179. While some of these charges are still “pending,” they were deducted from my available balance, leaving me in the red.||Throughout all of this, we remained friendly with the staff. We even brought Frostys from Wendy’s and offered to buy them dinner during the stormy weather. However, when I approached management to request a free night or meaningful compensation for their error, they refused. Instead, they offered me a $10 discount on the additional night, reducing it to $79, but still charged a $100 incidental fee. The manager dismissed my concerns, stating that the funds could take 5 to 7 business days to return to my account, as if that excused the inconvenience.||The room itself was comfortable, and the staff was kind and polite. However, I do wish the TVs were larger and that there were more pillow options, as both my fiancé and I struggled to sleep on the ones provided.||Overall, while the staff and accommodations were decent, the billing errors and poor handling of the situation completely ruined our experience. Guests should not have to bear the financial burden of a hotel’s mistake, and the lack of accountability from management was disappointing. I cannot recommend Microtel Hotel based on this stay.

This hotel is amazing. I had a great time very clean and feels brand new. The breakfast was fantastic. Very full selection with a lot of options. Will definitely be back. I appreciate all of the help from the wonderful staff. They made me feel at home which is very rare these days. Thank you Microtel staff

Brought our dog with. Was a very clean facility. Was skeptical about how clean it would be since it is a pet friendly hotel and was impressed. We were in 102, our room had hard flooring. People next door left, they had a large husky and housekeeping went and thoroughly cleaned it as well as cleaned the carpet. Was a good stay.

I really wish I could give a good review of this hotel, but there were just far too many disappointments with this property, unfortunately. I’ll start with the positive notes: the location is ideally situated right off I-25, next door to a Loves travel station, and backs to the Fountain Creek Regional Park. You’ll need to drive to get to the park entrance, but we really enjoyed our morning walk along the pond and the creek. It’s also close to lots of dining options about 5-10 minutes away. The room was clean and had a nice view of the park (see in attached pictures).
Now for the negative points: there are no king bed rooms in this hotel, so having to sleep in a queen bed with my husband wasn’t the most comfortable since we’re used to having more space. There were lights in the room that didn’t work.
There was a large biker group staying at this hotel all weekend and they fired up their bikes early in the morning and came back in the middle of the night, so it was always so noisy when we were trying to sleep. At check out, we overheard a woman complaining about the bikers to the front desk saying how unsafe they made her feel since she was next door to one of them who was cursing and banging on furniture/walls all night long and since she was staying there with her two young grandchildren, she was frightened and nearly called the police, but feared retaliation if they figured out who called. The guy at the front desk didn’t care and didn’t offer any reassurance or anything. He totally just dismissed her completely.
The walls are paper thin and you can hear the tv on next door. The room never got cleaned on day 2, so we ran out of towels. We didn’t put the do not disturb sign up, so we don’t know why they never came to clean and refresh towels, empty the trash, etc. My husband went to get breakfast from downstairs and the waffle maker was broken and the only option to eat was a muffin and a stale bagel.
Overall, if you need a single occupancy room for a quick overnight stay right off the highway and don’t require any amenities, this place might work fine for you. If, however, you’re staying more than one night with more than one person in your party and you’re hoping for a safe place with a spa/pool and decent amenities, this is not the place for you.

The cleaning crew apparently spent an hour cleaning my room along with my coworker..
They charged us an extra $100/plus ^^ each. The small refrigerator seal was not sticking or didn't cool my items. There was mold in the shower side wall. Covered in white paint. My allergies were acting up..ever since.
You'd think they come to your room daily and clean!
"The cleaning crew never came to clean our rooms," DO WE HAVE TO EVEN ASK? For such services, shouldn't this service be automatic?
yet they wanna charge us to clean our rooms?!
It seems that they're short-handed, probably underpaid..starting to wonder if only family members work here.

A random person came to my door knocking, asking if I needed room service/ maintenance. My first impression of this person was that he was very high... sweating had glossy eyes,
which threw me off. He didn't even look like he was a maintenance guy at this hotel. later that night, he was caught by the police. The lady at the front desk did not catch it, but my safety was compromised. You think they train the employees on this issue.
Luckily,
I brought it to her attention.
I pointed out the description of the guy. When he walked, just pasted us, security needs to be tightly addressed.
The neighboring room was smoking marijuana. Who knows if they ever charge them? I guess my case was worse than the smokers' second-hand smoke.

We showed up at 4:00 pm to check in, we had a prepaid reservation. The woman at the desk informed us our door was being worked on and would be done within the hour. It is now 6:00 pm and we asked her again and she said the battery for the door is dead and the man hasn't even shown up yet to work on it. After a long travel day and three hours of sleep last night we just wanted to get to bed early. Everything is sold out, since it's a holiday weekend, so we are stuck. Not happy to say the least.

I didn't actually get to stay. Their website and all information says they are pet friendly. However, they are only dog friendly. If you're traveling with a cat, they turn you away. Frustrating when it's 10:30 pm and you've traveled all day

We were evacuated from our apartment building at 10pm on July 15th. This Microtel was able to house all of us in their rooms. This was a great place, the Continental breakfast was great, staff was amazing and friendly. Y'all definitely made our scary time away from home a lot easier. Some of the staff were absolutely amazing Anthony was great, as was Gaya. Thank you so much for our new home away from home.
