If you're searching for a great example of customer service, a grocery store is a surprising spot to find it. I get most of my groceries here because the employees make shopping friendly and enjoyable. Plus, this store is well stocked, clean and competitively priced. Chances are you're going to like this text book example of customer service.

I don't have enough good words to describe the customer service in this supermarket. As soon as we walked in we were met by an employee who immediately asked if we needed any help, then we had a problem that was solved in a kind and generous manner. I would recommend this place to anyone without a doubt.

McKay's market may be expensive for some items but on many others, they substantially beat Fred Meyer's prices. Do your research and shop accordingly. I especially like their deli and prepared foods section and they have a great selection of quality meats. Friendly staff and clean, easy-to-navigate store. Join their deals club, as point accrual earns you decent free stuff!

Brookings-Harbor store is nice and big. A great alternative to Fred Meyer's if you don't want to drive all the way into town. However, I was really disappointed to find how little Organic produce and organic products they carry. I was really hoping for more and looking forward to see some of our great local organic products, such as milk from Alexandre Farms, Smith River grass feed beef, Rumiano's Cheeses, etc. Instead it's the same old stuff that Freddy or any other store carries. ?

Terriable experience. I prefer to use reusable bags and have rather large backpack that I use for groceries. I went into the store today to get butter as it was on sale. Put around 20lbs in the cart. Someone asked me to check my bag at the front. I had just been to the bank for my buisness and had thousands of dollars in the bag at the moment. I explained that felt uncomfortable checking a bag with that much cash in it. I explained this was all I was getting and if it was OK I was going straight to checkout. I was literally on my way to checkout after I got permission from him. As he escorted me to check he apparently changed his mind. Left with nothing and will never return. There are two other stores in town that are generally cheaper and don't seem to be affronted by a backpack. If there was a sign anywhere at the store entrance I would have respected and stowed my bag in my truck. But I was already in the dairy section before I was even told. Pics are proof of no obvious signage. Badly handled customer service. So many better ways to approach that situation. Especially in our small town.

I will NEVER step a toe back in this store! A manager by the name of Gavin answered the phone and midway through my question he hung on me. How unprofessional can you be? I have been in customer service for 27 years and would never treat a customer that way...especially in a small town like this. Total BS!!
