I grew up going to Keplers in the 1990s and every time I visit home I go to pick up the latest books. A beautiful and thoughtfully curated collection of books that expands my mind and whets my appetite for new ideas! I’m a science and history nonfiction junkie and Keplers NEVER disappoints (only my budget stops me from buying out the store!). It is my honor to shop and support local. I cannot recommend enough!

I really enjoyed dropping in here when I visited from Pittsburgh. Even now I stay on their mailing list because their events are often hybrid so I can join in from across the country! Their staff are well versed in what’s going on in the book world and it’s reflected in their great selection of reads (worth paying a 3% surcharge to offset the cost of living in such an expensive area of our country). Definitely check out their middle grade and YA sections if that applies to you or anyone you might buy books for, because it’s fantastic. I picked up enough books that they kindly shipped them back to Pittsburgh for me! Will definitely visit again when I’m back in town.

Kepler’s is the ultimate go-to spot for book lovers on the Peninsula! The moment you step inside, it feels like you’ve been transported to a cozy, charming bookshop in Europe (it reminds me of Daunt bookstore in London). Their book selection is absolutely fantastic, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. It’s a true gem for anyone who loves books and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

A decent-sized bookstore with a lot of character. Books, cards, wrapping paper, gifts—there is a good variety. I happened to be in store during an author event, which was cool. My favorite section of books was the limited edition.

I am generally a fan of local businesses and the preservation of the unique character of Menlo Park and Palo Alto. Where I have a PROBLEM is going into the over-hyped and frankly mediocre Kepler's Books which is under the influence of "woke" culture to such a degree that Black LGBTQ+ authors are found in both the LGBTQ+ and Black literature sections!
