The ISJ decided to publish an article involving an electrical fire at my home. Of course the journalist did not even try to contact myself before publishing the article. They put an easily traceable description of where to find the home, putting it and my family at risk of possible robbery or worse. There have been multiple cars stopping in the middle of our road, scoping out my home since then.

This shows how unethical, amateur, and irresponsible the Idaho State Journal runs their business and has left yet another mistake of theirs cause a family that just lost the majority of their home even more problems.

As of leaving this review, the ISJ has not responded to ANY of our messages asking them to alter or take down the article.

Idaho State Journal, do better.

When I initially started my subscription, it took 2 weeks and multiple phone calls to actually get the paper delivered. I had my subscription for about 6 months. I just noticed on my credit card statement that the rate when up. I logged in to the website and saw that the advertised rate is lower than what they were charging me. I decided to cancel. You can't cancel online. You call the number and it is difficult to get an actual person on the phone. I asked why I was being charged more than my original rate. He said that I should have received a letter telling me about my new rate. I did not receive a letter. He offered to put me back on my original rate. I just canceled. So, understand that the rate you sign up for is going to increase. I would also consider it a left leaning publication. I just want straight facts in my news. How bout you?

Poor quality reporting and tactics that emphasize shock factor to generate clicks and page views, at the expense of quality and accuracy. The lack of ethics and editing are unbelievable and I've seen firsthand how destructive their false reporting can be to our community, all in the name of driving traffic and stirring up unnecessary drama.

When you visit their site on a desktop you're greeted by an ad that takes up 75% of your screen, plus countless additional ads all over the site. Terrible user experience; but again, they aren't catering to the user, they are merely using excessive and predatory techniques to try to drive a profit through ad revenue. A better approach might be to actually provide a quality product that people are willing to pay for.

On the plus side, every once in a while I find a newspaper on my driveway. The content in the paper is low quality and often lagging days behind, but it burns great when I'm starting charcoal on my grill. I appreciate the free fuel.

Overall, not a company worth doing business with. There are far more accurate, ethical news sources in the area that actually value quality over quantity.

I only received a couple of papers when I canceled my subscriptions. I talked to Doug horrible customer service, and I didn't know there was no paper on Sunday or Monday, and all he could say is that it is what it is.

I called for information about an event they were sponsoring that night. Left a message and never got a call back. Not impressed with how they handle bill paying. They can't seem to get it right and then I not charged on month and then the next I'm being doubted billed. Thinking about canceling my subscription.

The Idaho State Journal is a great place to get your local news. And if you're looking for extra cash they have great paper routes. The employees are super nice here.

My paper is being delivered without any covering thus a wet paper. The paper is getting smaller and news is usually repeat of news on tv etc. more ads less news and very liberal reporting just want more news, less opinions and better delivery

They provide news to the local area and do pretty good at it. However, the ad space they sell seems to be pretty expensive, and they should focus on their online and social media content/delivery to stay more relevant.
