A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine from Boise, David Hawk, and I had the privilege of a two-day guided fishing trip with David Heib on the Teton River. I had completed my geologic master thesis in the Big Hole Mountains just west of Driggs in the summer of 1978. I had only been back in the area one time since finishing my thesis. It was special to find a fishing guide that would joke, tell stories and share his love of the Teton river fishing experience.
David made sure he put us on fish both days. He kept our fish rods loaded with the right flies for the time of day and for the type of fish biting. He helped us be better fly fishermen with our casts and mending so we had the best chance of catching fish.
There is nothing like seeing the grandeur of the Tetons over the River in the morning. Having moose feed in the river as you float by is awe inspiring. Watching eagles perched in the tree over you waiting to see if you might entice him with a juicy trout was exciting.
We caught the Teton Grand Slam including rainbow, cutthroat, cutbow, brook, brown and whitefish over the two days. Each type of trout had its own demeanor with the rainbows and cutthroat coming to the surface and doing a dance on the end of the line. The big browns would head for the deep pools and try to stay under the water until you finally played them out. The brookies did whatever they pleased but always fought to the end. Fishing doesn’t get much better.
I cannot thank Idaho Anglers and our special guide David Heib for the special memories. We highly recommend them for the Teton River experience.

Great day fly fishing on one of the most beautiful rivers I have ever fished. We came from Singapore so didn’t know what to expect but Idaho Anglers really gave us a memorable day out !

Two of the people i travelled with had never fly fished in their life and Brady (our guide) took the time to teach them. He was very patient and took us to numerous spots on the river. We would highly recommend to have him as a guide as he has great knowledge of the river and was extremely friendly.

We fished on the Owyhee River and there are lots of sizeable along with the scene if views. The river is quite wide so a full cast is possible

Stopped in while we were passing through Boise area, visiting from Wyoming. Greeted immediately by friendly staff willi g to answer any questions. They have everything you need. Highly recommend for seasoned angler or anyone just starting out.

Great time on our full day fishing trip. We fished the Owyhee River. Our guide, Chris, was incredible. Both of us were beginners. We had fly-fished enough to develop several poor habits. Chris was great at encouraging us, helping us fix our mistakes, and getting us in the fish. We caught several brown's and rainbow's. Equipment was satisfactory for our skills. Food was good and plentiful. It was a great day.

Went out with Fishing Guides Brady and James on a half day float trip. Had 2 of us with some experience and 2 in the group who it was their first time with a fly rod. They made the trip so fun! Everyone caught a fish and overall was a perfect trip. Highly recommend these guys especially! We will be back!

I was recently in, staff was super friendly and helpful. Took the time to find out where I fish and what my budget is to find the perfect boot for me. When they didn’t have my size for that boot ( not blaming them at all) he made me an incredible deal on an upgraded pair that stayed within my budget and still fit my needs. Went the extra mile and probably broke close to even on the sale, just to take care of their customers. Support these guys and buy their flies!

I love this place but I can never seem to leave without pockets full of new flies I wasn't intending to buy. Amazing guides and knowledgeable staff who don't make me intimidated to ask a stupid question. I've been fly fishing for 30+ years and I'm still full of stupid questions.
