It is my understanding that Gunnison spent $12 million on redoing the airport. But I would like to know is what they plan on doing with the 10 million they have left to spend because there is no way what I see is $12 million. Not only, do they have virtually temporary furniture in the main gate area but also no outlets except up at the bar the airport forces you to check in because there is not a single lounging area in the main terminal. Once you check in and get upstairs they are vending machines, which only accept cash , there is no food service. There is no service there are no televisions you might as well be sitting in A $12 Million dollar tent. From all appearances, all they did, was redo the floor, the walls in the ceiling, and left no consideration whatsoever to the passengers, or those having to wait for a plane it is absurd

Coming in, out flight was rerouted because atc couldn't find a jet that was literally at their airport. No options for food, only a vending machine.

Flying out, while checking in, there is 1 drink vending machine that only takes cash so I spent $2 on a water while we waited for TSA to open which doesn't happen until 10:30, once past security there is 1 vending machine that also only takes cash, no other food available. Used my only $1s on that water so no food for us.

The employees are friendly but they need to fix the food situation.

Very accommodating little airport. Was very pleased to be able to relax in the waiting area after my pilot slammed the airplane onto the pavement. The staff here is very accommodating and quick when it comes to luggage.
