We have lived here for 5 years (Regular Army, so FAR longer than any other "normal" Active Duty personnel that have been stationed here at Fort Greely within the last three decades, plus we've have had the benefit of being stationed in diverse places; the AGR Alaska National Guard have on average been stationed here much, much longer by design without the same context/benefits from a Regular Army perspective).

Laura and her family and their Granite View team have ALWAYS, 100% (and I wish I could reiterate this more in writing) been friendly and personable and have shared just the right amount of advice on products that they sell (sharing what they know first-hand, and for other things also pointing towards readily available online reviews). If you're not sure about something, look at the reviews or DYOR (Do Your Own Research).

The main reason for my review is that Laura's prices have generally ALWAYS been "spot-on" for the majority of things. Occasionally you MAY find something for a few dollars less on Amazon like we have and have ordered them that way, BUT if you're already in a physical store looking for something, then you very likely "need it now" and you may as well spend the extra couple dollars or more to have it NOW versus waiting at least 3-5 days (or 3-5 weeks during the holiday shopping season) to get it TODAY. If you're not sure, do a check yourself. 5 years Active Duty here and 95% of the items have been equal to the Amazonion Rainforest named online store prices OR it's something (or both categories) that you need/want NOW.

I visited today (about 20 minutes before closing) and even though the lights were initially turned off in the boot-fitting room because Laura thought there wasn't a customer left in the store, she stayed open until right at regular closing time and even took the time to pull up the same info I could find online for the negative Fahrenheit temperature ratings on kid boots (sorry Laura, neither you or I thought to check the "3rd tag" attached to the boots themselves before we both "checked online". The same info you and I both found are on a separate tag ALSO attached to one boot that reads -20F/-30C for the MUCK KEL-000 Kid's Element, so you were definitely correct with your initial guess). 🙂

Long story review short: if Laura and her family team were anywhere else with their drive/mentality, they'd be "killing it" (no pun intended...I know you sell a bunch of weapons and ammunition), and would be HIGHLY successful in almost any other U.S. state, especially those with a sizeable military presence.

stopped in for advice for fishing nearby clearwater river. i had tried several different fly patterns mosquito, adams etc.and didnt have any luck. the guy in the store was helpful and recommended some flies and spots to fish. after that I had very good success. some places could of just taken your money and sent you on your way. they were spot on with their advice. Thank you to the staff.

I love this store!! The owners are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. The store has a nice selection of hunting and fishing supplies. They have a nice supply of Alaska gifts if you need to get something for a friend or loved one. And they have clothes and boots for your outdoor adventures. Give them a try. I bet you'll enjoy their store too.

Very knowledgeable and helpful. Competitive pricing on high end outdoor clothing. Meet or beat almost any price on guns and ammo. 90% of my outdoor shopping is done here.

Excellent customer service! I'll definitely do the majority of my shopping with Granite View in the future. I'd rather drive from Fairbanks to Delta for a quality experience than deal with most of the shops in town.

For the size of the town, this place has it all. Guns, ammo, fishing gear, hunting gear, and all lines of clothing for outdoor adventures. The staff was very friendly and the labrador retriever running around the shop is friendly as well. This is also a great place to get local art work and Alaskan gifts.
