Always clean and tidy. Location is perfect as you can easily walk to anything in downtown. Dorm rooms have locked boxes so if you are coming without your car your things can be locked up while you are out. Beds are ok. There is not air conditioning so if it's really hot you may have a little challenge at night. Most fun is the record player and records in the living room. The piano is also fun to play with if you play. It's the best deal in Glenwood Springs when you are on a budget.

I stayed here in 2014 and returned again in 2016. I will say it's not the cleanest place, but for the price you're paying its 100% worth it. And by saying it's not the cleanest, I do not mean this place is dirty. It's an old house so it's not going to be spotless spick and span in every room. There was a private room option for $40 a night when I stayed. It's nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable enough. Again you're paying a very low price compared to hotels/Airbnbs so I feel like people need to be realistic when reviewing. I personally will stay here every time I visit this area. The staff is super warm and kind, and the other people staying there (some are regulars) have always been kind to me. Good vibes, laid back, and very affordable. There is also a kitchen so if you're on a budget looking to cook your own meals and socialize with residents and other visitors then I'd say this is a spot for you. Glenwood springs isn't cheap to say the least. So it's nice having an option like this.

Side note: Also, if you wanted to visit the hot springs at the hotel down the way, there was an option to for $20 a person for the when I went (rates may have changed since) so you get to enjoy the pools without paying a fortune to stay there. Overall, I recommend this hostel and buying pool admission to visit the hot springs! There is also an amusement park in the mountains called Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, HIGHLY recommend! They do not open their amusement park till Mid-march 2019 due to replacing some of their trams.

We had paid for three. Jeanie was very fair in refunding us. Besides the dirtiness, there was a core group of flophouse types and there was smoking permitted in all the outdoor areas, so nowhere for a nonsmoker to enjoy(the smoke smell was in the living room furniture also). We had a private upstairs room in the main jouse with downstairs hall bath(not clean) for females. The kitchens were mostly clean & well equipped. It was an easy walk to town, grocery & pool & river walks & bus routes.

I've never stayed at a hostel and after this I never will again. It's an old run down house, the floors are uneven and some parts sinking. The shower was so dirty and gross it was also missing a handle to run on the cold water. There mattresses on the bunk beds are just a piece of foam, my back hurt so bad when I woke up. Do not recommend at all this place did not feel safe.

This is a decent somewhat below average hostel that is by far the lowest cost place to stay in this part of Colorado. In summer your best choice is to camp but in winter this is a reasonable low budget choice. There are a number of local derelict types who seem to be long-term lodgers here but people are generally friendly and the rooms are warm. Basic, shaky bunk beds and squeaky floors. Poor kitchen but decent living room areas. Parking is hit and miss, during the day it will be harder to find street parking but after rush hour is over you should have no problem finding street parking out front. This property is an easy walk from downtown and a longer walk to the hot spring pool. There are not a lot of amenities but this is a cheap bed that worked fine for me on a budget trip.

What can I say but bravo to Jeannie and her crew for maintaining a charming affordable option for visitors to Glenwood Springs. The hostel itself reflects the personality of it's owner who is kind, sweet and cares for every guest. No other lodging in the area has such personality.

Nice hostel in a great location in a friendly, laid-back mountain town. It had a great, cozy atmosphere, big kitchen and a funky record collection to browse. The staff was really friendly and made me feel comfortable. Even though the dorm I was in slept around 15, I had a quiet and restful night. Definitely the grooviest hostel I've stayed in.

Betwixt & between, I have spent the past few weeks at the hostel, which is a comfortable mix of travelers and guests who are staying for a while. The former are the kind of aware and adventurous travelers who prefer the hostel style of accommodation. The latter are almost all working and/or studying in the Glenwood area. With the exploding rents in Colorado, hospitable Jeanie and her family are providing an essential service by opening their doors to longer term as well as short term guests. The result is an informal and ever-friendly environment where conversations run the gamut from interesting to fascinating, laughter is frequent, and the camaraderie heart-warming.
