Garden City Library – A Legendary Refuge in One of Idaho’s Best Towns

Garden City Library isn’t just a library—it’s a stronghold. A fortress of peace, clarity, and quiet dignity. One of the cleanest, most well-kept, and welcoming places I’ve ever been to. It’s more than just shelves of books—it’s a shelter for the mind and soul.

As a man navigating the challenges of being unhoused—living in my vehicle, grinding through hard seasons—this place has been a lifeline. In a world that often forgets you, Garden City Library remembers. The staff show respect. The atmosphere brings calm. And the space? It's spotless, solid, and built like it was meant to last.

I can’t overstate how grateful I am. Whether you’re here to work, read, think, or just breathe—it’s like the weight lifts off your shoulders the second you walk in. There’s something sacred about it.

And if you’ll humor a legend…

They say that long before the city stood, this very spot was chosen by fate. Some of King Arthur’s lesser-known blades were forged in this soil—tools of justice and loyalty. The round table itself, the one forged not just of stone and oak, but of honor and grit, was first envisioned here in the spirit of unity. Maybe it’s just a tale—but it explains the strength and stillness you feel here.

Garden City, you’ve built something legendary. This library is a gift—and one of the best things Idaho has to offer.

Thank you to all Employees and City worker's for making this community and resource so wonderful for us all.

Great library with lots of good places to study and read. Selection was good and location is nice right on the Greenbelt. Only docking one star since a good portion of the library seemed to be under construction, but hopefully this will be done soon.

Hands-down one of the best libraries in the area. It’s right next to a scenic walking trail so it’s easy to bike to. In addition the Wi-Fi is super fast and it doesn’t seem to be that crowded.

We’ve been coming to this library for some time now. Doing some story times, art projects, and some mom meet ups. This library has been welcoming! I never once have felt like my child wasn’t welcome. Even when my oldest is experiencing some sensory challenges all the staff is so kind. Grateful for this safe space for my children to be themselves, and explore the world of learning.

Closes before posted hours? Showed up to pick up my ordered books for school at 7:50 pm and the place is dark and closed. Sign says close is 8, Google says closes at 8.

Update:
In response to your reply. I physically walked into the building. The signs on the door said do not enter, no signs directing me anywhere else. No signs in the lobby. All library products in the lobby were covered. A simple sign would be great. Thank you for the reply!

I'm so grateful for this library. I've been able to use the computer and printing stations with ease the last few months to help me with my job search. There are many spots to cozy up with a good book here, lots of great books to choose from, community programs for different groups, and the library is near the Greenbelt. This is one of my favorite places in Garden City and it is a staple in our community.

Overall a decent library. A bit on the smaller side.

Their landscapers are Dwarves with IQs less than 50. Common courtesy goes a long ways.. or at least it used to. I'd recommend telling your guys to stop using blowers. They really aren't needed when rakes do a better job and prevent angering people.

EDIT: No need for an email, this review shall suffice. Just let your guys know to be mindful of their surroundings when using power-tools. There are children around and using a blower mindlessly is a hazard. Thanks.
