Our room was filthy when we arrived. There were tags from other people's clothes on the floor, so it clearly hadn't been vacuumed. There were bugs inside both of the windows and the room didn't look anything like the pictures we had seen online. There is no extra locks on the inside of the room which felt like a security issue. {This story gets a bit gross here - skip it if you are squeamish} I took my 2 young sons to the chinese restaurant next door for dinner and they proceeded to be sick to their stomachs multiple times in the night. I used all of the clean linens to clean the bathroom as best as I could without cleaning supplies. The next morning, we left the frontier lodge from 10am-9pm and when we came back the room hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom still smelled like vomit and the dirty linens were still where I had left them. I complained to the front desk and they actually told me that there was nothing they could do except give me some rags and clean linens for the next day! I still had no cleaning supplies so the rags weren't going to do me any good! The manager was even present in the motel but refused to speak to me! I've never experienced such extremely disgusting conditions in a hotel and I am shocked by the complete lack of customer service.

Why book a resort or more expensive hotel? The experience can often be impersonal and of course, expensive. I know that I pick hotels based on reviews and that being said, this hotel is hands down one of the best I've stayed in. The service is fantastic, they actually know your name and are able to help you no problem. The location is a bit outside of downtown so not as much noise and the buildings fit right in with the area. The room is very nice too, with surprisingly comfy pillows and beds. The bathroom is small but functional and it's separated which I personally prefer; it gives it a modern feel. Mine also had a microwave and a fridge, nice to have, but I didn't use them. The Internet is actual Internet, because it's a smaller location you actually get to use it like you normally would, no getting disconnected or slowed down. The biggest surprise is that you get a FREE BREAKFAST. Which at this price point is amazing, and the breakfast is pretty great. You've got the essentials and everything is well organized and set up, has a real homey feel. Finally, the management here is super great. As I mentioned before they are personable and personal; they really understand the hospitality business. If you've got a family or are just by yourself and looking for a good deal without sacrificing creature comforts and practicality, then the Frontier Lodge is your huckleberry.

It's not horrible, you get what you pay for. For the price you get a clean room, and it seems they are slowly starting to remodel. The owner and her husband share running the front desk and stay all through the night. They are night, the breakfast is average, no eggs or bacon, but we enjoyed a toasted bagel and cream cheese with pancakes. I would stay again for a quick stop, looking for a romantic or fancy getaway, pay the extra money. Also, Uncle's Pizza is down the street, don't judge a book by it's cover the pizza is AMAZING!

I would avoid this place. The female owner was really nice, but the place lacks some serious necessities. We froze so bad that it was painful. It was 12 degrees outside & we had no heat in our room. Room #101. The female owner told us that the gas fireplace inside the room doesn't work and don't turn it on. There was no other source of heat. We had to sleep with our coats on in bed. The bed has a embedded stain in the sheets and it grossed us out. The top bed cover is paper thin and the comforter under that is old and worn out and made of thin cotton. We heard banging all hours of the night from the room next door and it was so cold in our room, my nose was running all night. We didn't get any sleep at all, we should've slept in our car. Also, upon check in, we had to pay a $50 deposit because we paid with a debit card and it took 2 days to be refunded back to us. As far as breakfast goes, they have 2 toasters and a microwave in the lobby. The only good thing about this room is that the bathroom was clean and we got a warm shower. We will never stay here again.

Everything was clean and comfortable. The room had a nice layout, good shower, double sinks. The continental breakfast was pretty standard, in a good way, but also included fresh-made pancakes. Service was good. It was a pretty basic motel, but very nice for the price we paid. Will stay again.

The location right on the main highway was a positive; about 15 minutes from the downtown area. The room was very small, yet fairly clean. The heater worked very well and we stayed toasty all night long. There was no telephone in the room, nor was there a coffee maker. In the office they did have the fixings for tea and coffee. We did not have any issue with noise from other units or from the highway. No major complaints about this place--okay for a quick night's rest enroute to another destination

On a trip from Montreal Canada to San Fransisco USA we stopped at this motel in Glenwood Springs CO. It was late and when we arrived they treated us like kings. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean as a whistle. Good shower and the coffee was very good too. Great place, Great people. The town has a huge hot spring heated pool. The warmest and the largest pool I have ever seen.

Maybe 1 star because it was clean I would have been better off sleeping in the back seat of my car. The bed was hard as a rock, lighting is poor and to top it off I was woken up at 6am to the sound of heavy machinery that has been idling right next to my room for the last hour. If you're looking for a cheap room this is not worth it. Pay an extra $20 to stay at the silver spruce Inn; it is 100x better than this place.
