Inside the Danville Library, The Friends of the Danville Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the town's library. From the sales at their Friends Bookstore and the popular quarterly 3-day Used Book and Media Sales (January, April, July, and October), what the Friends of the Danville Library sells goes back to help pay for new Library materials, special programs / events for the community.

A major part of how this is done is working closely with library staff to accept & process donations, such as fiction, nonfiction, children's books, coffee table and art books, DVDs, audio books and music CDs.

Best kept secret in Danville: The cozy Friends Bookstore is like a tiny "Barnes & Noble," with sometimes the current bestsellers, but at deeply discounted prices. Children's Books start at 50 cents. Books start at $1. CDs at $1 and up. Children's and Adult DVDs at $2 and up. Everything is in mint condition. The volunteers thoroughly inspect what's been donated and will reject marked up, stained, and/or torn-up items.

The Bookstore is tucked away in a hallway on the right as soon as you walk into the Library. They also have "Free Books" racks too! They have great store hours: M - Sat 10 am - 5 pm, supported with very helpful, friendly volunteers who are passionate readers and will make reading suggestions when asked.

Stuff sells quickly here so you have either buy as soon as you see it or come back often.

At the library's parking lot, it's 4 hour free parking.

A great place to find used books at a very reasonable price. Good selections of many different types of books.

Volunteer staff work very hard to present a ever-changing offering of both hardback and paperback books...all in good condition.
They even offer an ever changing small selection of books free for the taking.
This is a really great and well staffed facility.

1 free book outside
2 books for $5 total, no tax, and they're both very popular books.
Great selection of kids books and popular picks

Tiny secondhand bookstore, but good prices. Generally recent titles, mostly fiction, with some history. You're more likely to find something on weekdays than on the weekend, when the good stuff seems to get picked through pretty quickly.
