Just can’t say enough about how special and important FFF Jimmy’s was for our extended visit to the Falls, specifically to explore and learn the South and Henry’s Forks of the Snake River. But, will try 😎
Walked in the first day as an admittedly open book, seeking input, knowledge, and advice, plus the right gear for the adventure. Henry and AJ were beyond helpful!!! Genuinely nice, super-knowledgeable, and extremely friendly.
We started at the tippet and went thru all my gear (you do need heavier leaders for these rivers and fish!), added to my fly collection, secured maps and then highlighted areas for safe and successful wading.
Through my frequent visits to replace flies or update gear, the guys became more than advisors (they basically live on the rivers and know what’s happening)…we actually became friends! Henry even tied some specific flies for me that weren’t available anywhere, including online, and caught plenty of fish.
Idaho-friendly is a real thing and FFF is a great example.
Dunno, maybe if you go in figuring you could write a book for Orvis you may not feel the same way … but since you can’t step into the same river twice and fly fishing is a humbling learning experience with each trip, at least for me, can’t imagine a better place to enjoy camaraderie, education, insight, a little story-telling, and all-around good BS.
The guys at FFF Jimmy’s made the fishing trip unforgettable - and not just because of the fish!
We gotta support these private, individually-owned fly shops and their folks, so essential to enjoying our time outdoors. Don’t fondle their equipment then try to save a few bucks online. Keep them in business for all that they offer!

Unbelievable selection of fly tying supplies. Better than some of the online retailers, with the benefit of having expert advice and the ability to review the materials before buying. Shop guys know their stuff. When they’re not helping someone, they’re tying up streamers at the counter. Must-stop whenever I’m in IF.

Henry and AJ are real gems. I needed a place to take my son to go have a positive first experience fly fishing and I got a recommendation from AJ for a great spot that a kid could have fun on a real river.
Whenever I go in, Henry is positive and helpful and gives me great tips and pointers for how to improve my tying or just good vibes for a new fly angler. It's encouraging and they never make me feel like just because I don't have the cash to buy a sage rod or whatever that I'm not worth a little time.
Today Henry helped me pick out some fun stuff for my son's birthday and I think the little guy's gonna be stoked.
This joint is my go-to for anything fly fishing or tying related. I have to drive over an hour one-way to get there, and even though gas is expensive, they never disappoint. Completely worth my money, time, and energy.
Happy to support a small local business rather than order online, these folks make it a no-brainer.

They've got a lotta bit of everything... and then some. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. You might pay a small premium over, say, a box store for certain materials/items but you really can't beat the breadth and A-Z availability which I feel is certainly worth it.

Great fly shop! It’s locally owned and operated and the people are super friendly and kind! My friend and I are newer to fly fishing and have learned so much from shopping @ Jimmy’s!

Today was my first time here. Best Fly Shop I have ever been to, hands down.
Thanks AJ and staff who helped out our group. We’d like to make it an annual tradition to come back!
Hope to meet Cheech/Curtis and anyone on the Fly Fish Food Team one day. Big fan.

My friend and I went in and they rushed us out only let us look at the 1$ flys. they tried sell me the wrong stuff that was more expensive and treated me like I didn’t know what I was doing, when my fly gear is way more expensive than anything they had in their cheap super taxed family owned store. Both the guy and the girl are rude judgmental know it all and I wouldn’t shop there unless you know what you’re doing so you don’t get scammed. And I’d just go somewhere else it’s hilarious how taxed everything is and that opinion is not even influenced by the poor customer service. I would never go again unless prepared for the poor service but okay selection of flys I didn’t get to look at them all but everything is taxed the flys are only reason I’d go but just get stand and kits to make your own.
