A Truly Extraordinary Experience

While shopping in Manitou Springs, I was immediately drawn to Flowers and the Moon by their beautiful window display. Having just lost the love of my life, Jason, who had a deep love for owls, the owl-themed display caught my eye and felt like a sign.

As I entered the store, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, Jen. My eyes quickly landed on a stunning owl planter. When I couldn’t find a price, I asked Jen, and without hesitation, she offered one.

At checkout, I shared the story of Jason’s passing and his love of owls. That’s when something extraordinary happened. Jen was stunned as she revealed that the owl planter had been in her store for 5 months and was only a decorative piece—not for sale. Many had tried to buy it, but she had refused every time. Yet, in that moment, she felt compelled to sell it to me, not knowing my story.

We both shared an emotional and heartfelt moment that felt like Jason’s presence guiding us. It was a connection I’ll never forget, sealed with a gentle hug.

Flowers and the Moon is more than a store—it’s a place of inspiration, connection, and magic. I will forever be a loyal patron, and I encourage everyone to visit. You never know what might touch your heart or inspire your soul. Thank you, Jen, for this unforgettable experience.

The sweetest and cutest little plant shop.

As expected they have a wide variety of plants, but also some additional novelty items and cards and fun things.

Very cute aesthetic and set up. The workers are super welcoming and knowledgeable as well.

Prices are also quite fair

This place was a happy little surprise! There are many plants, varieties and price points to choose from. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the plants. She even packed my plant for safe travel at no extra charge. This was my first visit but it won't be my last!

Jen was incredible!! I came in looking for a bouquet for my brother’s girlfriend so he could propose to her! Jen was patient and listened to their story and asked me about what colors i wanted, what my budget was, and any extras and even what wrapping paper or if we needed a vase! She thought of everything. She came up with an absolutely stunning and thoughtful arrangement that even included a dried mushroom and Colorado native flowers, all for an incredibly reasonable price too! My brothers girlfriend loved the arrangement and attention to detail. Thank you so much Jen for making this day so incredibly special and being a part of it! I can’t wait to come back for more!! I’ll always buy from Flowers and The Moon from now on!

Flowers and the Moon is such a unique flower and plant boutique. The shop windows are so inviting you can not help but walk in and check it out. The flower arrangements are beautiful making it hard to choose just one. There are cool plants you can buy with or without pots, they even have lots of different succulents. There are little treasures on every shelf, loved the gardening section. She has gifts for all sorts of occasions earrings, soaps, pruning shears, art supplies, snail pot-hanger and a pot were all on my first purchase and I did not scratch the surface on all of the things I loved. The owner is wonderfully helpful she is there to make you the perfect arrangement or help you find what you need. I can not wait to go back, Flowers and The Moon is a perfect new addition to Manitou.

This store and its owner, Jen, are fabulous! This is the perfect place to find gifts for the plant lovers and homebodies in your life. I enjoy a good gothic-femme vibe and this. shop. has. it. down. After noting the gothic theme of the items I chose, Jen actually brought out an item she had set aside to sell in the fall because she knew I’d love it - and she was right! She also took the time to chat with me and share some history of the town she thought I’d find interesting (right again). I will be back next time I find myself in Manitou Springs, hopefully around Halloween to see Jen’s window display!
