We have stayed at Fairmont in another ski resort so we knew the reputation was outstanding. Your communication was fabulous concerning our reservation, transportation arranged from the airport, suggested activities while we were there, everything. Our condo was perfect. Loved going to the lobby for coffee and plenty of real fruit flavored water plus a hot cup of marvelous teas in the afternoon. Location was superb - right in the little village by several lifts, plenty of restaurants along with a gondola to the big market one way (5 mins max) and the town of Telluride the other way (15 fun view minutes - great views). The Vallee for skis was perfectly situated and well run - hot dry boots in the morning. Unfortunately my husband got injured the 2nd day. You immediately offered up a wheelchair. It was easy to get van transportation to town for dinner plus pick up. You even slid a card under our door wishing him a speedy recovery with loads of messages and signatures. I am sure I am missing something but needless to say - if the opportunity presents itself we will definitely stay at a Fairmont again.

This stay was much smoother than our first one as owners. Our bins were right outside our door when we arrived (YIPEE) and the unit was all set. The cleanings were good but not great... both bathrooms were nearly out of bath gel and neither one was refilled. Jim asked during the deep clean if they could refill the large humidifier in the main room and they said they would but did not. A knob on a cupboard was super loose and came off near the end of our stay.
The cocktail parties are SUPER - we have met new friends and appreciate that there is nice quality food and beverages provided.
We invite another couple to join us and need both mattresses in the rooms to be single large mattresses. The one in our room was two twins and there was a huge gap and it was so uncomfortable.
Probably our biggest concern is the lack of regular review/maintenance of the hot tubs and grills. At least four times during our stay, we went to the hot tub after skiing around 2pm and found it below level to cover the jets, so the water sprayed everywhere unless one of us sat directly in front of the jet to block it. One day, after skiing, both the 4th and 5th floor tubs were out of commission. Should have been done between 10 - 1.
The larger nicer weber stainless grill does not operate properly. No one can get it to work, so multiple families are trying to grill on the one remaining, smaller grill.
We cannot WAIT for the remodel of the units. It looks great! We appreciated Emma showing us the new look in 310.

Not only completely satisfied but we were all impressed with the efficiency and attention to detail to every thing. From check-in, to the room, specially the housekeeping (we only used them two days out of the six says we were there). They are amazing. Check out process. Answering questions. Transportation. Every-single-thing. The staff was always happy to help in every way. Can't thank them enough for making us feel so welcome.

Friendliest staff in the world. My wife and I had three days of skiing in Telluride and our board bags didn’t make it on the way in. We asked the front if they knew of or had any extra gear to lend for a day and all three employees (Taylor, Colleen, and William) quite literally gave us the shirt off their back. Because of their generosity, we were able to rent skis and enjoy all three days of skiing. We are so grateful for their kindness. They have made us life long Fairmont customers. We will always stay here when visiting Telluride.

We had a perfect weeklong stay at the Franz Klammer Lodge! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully attended to. One of the standout moments was when the staff procured board games based on our selections and delivered them directly to our suite — such a thoughtful and personalized touch! The lodge’s location is unbeatable, offering convenient access to all the surrounding activities while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. We can’t recommend the Franz Klammer Lodge highly enough and look forward to returning!

"Dated" is an interesting word that might mean different things to different people. But to the frequent traveler it simply means - "old" and "worn out". ||Such is the place that the once staple of Telluride Mountain Village hotels - The Fairmont Franz Klammer - finds itself in 2025. While it's had plans for renovations for some years, none have come to fruition. Meanwhile, the thin doors - which loudly trumpet the many children running down the halls - and worn decor and musty and mildew smells just keep reminding you that this place is in desperate need of a face lift if not total and complete tear down. ||That's not to say that its location and proximity to amazing skiing isn't the best in Telluride. It is. Also, the staff and management seem to be trying their best to make good out of a difficult, if not, insurmoutable situation. With the Madeline next door under constant renovation while consistently raising prices and the new Four Seasons on the way - the Franz hasn't much more time to waste...

Your website advertises with a photo showing a gorgeous condo with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Although I requested verbally and in writing repeatedly a condo with this view AND it was confirmed on my written confirmation from the Franz Klammer that we would have a 3 bedroom condo. However, we were given a 2 bedroom condo at check in. We immediately brought it to the attention of the check in person & concierge and showed both employees our confirmation reflecting a 3 bedroom. We were told by concierge that the 2 bedroom was all that was available, we didn't "need" a 3 bedroom, and "sorry". In talking with a Franz Klammer Owner that I met at the spa - there are very few condos with the spectacular view advertised on the website and the chances of getting one is extremely small as the Madeline resort was built next door blocking the majority of the mountain views from the Franz Klammer condos. She went on to say you have to get a 3 bedroom to have any chance at a view. Obviously, the 3 bedroom we were confirmed to have prior to arrival & at time of payment was given to another guest with no thought or value given to their written confirmation/promise to us.
We booked our ski rentals through Telluride Sports which has multiple locations - one location that is in the Franz Klammer. Upon check in, we asked the check in person, the concierge, the bell hop, and a random resort employee riding in the elevator with us what floor Telluride Sports was located in the Franz Klammer - not one had any idea and a couple of employees said it wasn't located in the Franz Klammer. We did happen upon Telluride Sports exiting the resort - it's a rather large store and located in the Franz Klammer on the 1st floor!!
We completed the "Guest Vacation Planner" emailed to us and returned it weeks before our date of arrival. We requested housekeeping mid week, 1 time only, anytime between 9AM-12PM during our stay. The second day of our visit, I received a text from housekeeping saying the "Do Not Disturb" was hanging on our condo door and they were there to clean the condo and told me they did not have the information from the "Guest Vacation Planner".
The resort staff overall seem bored and looked as if they wished they were anywhere except at the Franz Klammer.
The 2 bedroom condo was nice and the location was great, but don't expect to get what they confirm-you'll get what you get and you're on your own as the staff isn't helpful or knowledgeable.

My best friend and I had been planning a friend trip for the longest time. We decided to jump on it and plan a trip to Mountain Village/Telluride. We are so thankful we decided on Franz Klammer Lodge as it had amazing views, best hospitality, and an even better location. This lodge is right in the middle of Mountain Village, super close to the shops and even closer to the FREE gondola to either Telluride or the market. The condo itself was more than we could have hoped for. From the views of the mountains on the balcony, to the stars shining so bright from the 5th floor hot tub, I have never been so in awe of Colorado. Everything was fully stocked - kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and even the rooms! We were thrilled to find humidifiers and fans were provided. Also - the shampoo and lotion smells AMAZING. Highly recommend and already planning when I can take my husband.
