This is El Paso County's criminal justice center...Aka jail. The booking in to and out of the facility is tedious and very long, even if you go in bonded beforehand count on it taking 8 hours minimum to do either book out or in. Be prepared to walk thru a major x ray machine that reveals anything internally being brought in to the facility(ide ask for another verification besides that if you are pregnant, it is powerful enough to see pregnancy in very early stages)...the food. I can't believe it's legal to serve. Zero nutrients. Straight slop. This facility also has an adjacent TENT, that is where you will be taken if you need to go to detox. I think the location makes some not go to detox even if they need, to due to being steps away from the jail. This is worse than any prison in Colorado by far ...and in many ways. They are at capacity 365 days a year, prolly need an addition by this point. You can't stack more than 2 ...stay out of here if at all possible. It's cold, the blankets, air, cups and spoons...its just not where you wanna be in 2019! We do appreciate those that serve and protect our community....avoid this trip at all costs. You'll be happy if you never see the inside.

The reception here much depends on the day as the schedule seems to rotate among the deputies employed by the jail or something...sometimes u get nice ones and some should just not be working with the public at all.

Don't really have anything to say but I pray and hope that no one would ever have to come to a place like this unless you're homeless. I guess this place is needed for serious offenders and violators. Who am I to judge. I'm just glad that I am not no one's judge or juror. I Would never want to be in this position. It's already hard enough for people of any race or creed. Oftentimes my heart aches and my mind wonders. But this is a story for another day and time. Let the world be blessed and Jesus Christ save us all. Amen

This place is the absolute worst. There customer service is bad it's not very clean there are things falling off the walls. The bathrooms are horrific. My experience involved just going in to but money on the books for someone. I walk in they have two kiosks for you to add money to the accounts. I could not figure out how they worked to save my life. So I went to the counter to ask. Waited probably about 15 min for the lady to come up and once she did she was zero help either. I feel like the people on the outside with love ones and or friends on the inside are the real prisoners.

Great place to visit family and friends! It has a good feng shui and a safe vibe to the place. It's kept pretty clean also. The only thing this place lacks is a better sense of humor. They did not find my "file in the cake" joke as hilarious as it obviously was. This may be where the saying came from "great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there"

This is the most inhumane place I have ever had the misfortune of having to interact with. The "medical" staff is inept and uncaring. Leann never returned one call when I was inquiring about my mentally ill loved one and weather or not he was receiving his much needed medicatin. There is a Hobbit sized deputy with short gray hair who told me " the judges don't tell us how to run "our jail" when I went in to let them know that my order of protection had been modified and then he misinterpreted it. I had to go back in and show him exactly what the order read and then he told me to "lose the attitude because his Sheriff..the one accused of bribing people for votes BTW said they could ban me for harassing them. When he misread my modified order I did inappropriately say on my way out the door that I hate you FN people you are so without compassion. When I fetead the order and saw that he misread it I went back in to schedule a visit. I apologized for my outburst and said this has just been very traumatizing..not that you care because it is so infinitely clear that they do not it was a mete statement of fact. He then cancelled my upcoming visit. I'm looking into civil action and medical negligence. This place makes the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo NY look like a 5 star resort. Utterly unacceptable. Bond your loved one out if you can.
