So, not really sure where to start but I’ll start at the beginning. I contacted this office back in October of this year. The initial person I spoke to took my information down to forward to one of the VSOs. The individual who contacted me via email was Corey Gill on 10/23/24 requesting specific documents in order to start my BDD claim. I promptly worked on his request and emailed him back all the requested documents on 10/28/2024. I waited for a bit and sent a follow up email to Corey on 11/4/24 asking if he had received my email with all requested documents and if I needed to make any updates. I understand 100% this was on Thanksgiving and everyone will be taking time off for the Holidays. All I needed was a “G2G” or something. So, I said to myself, I’m being unreasonable. Just wait. At this point it’s 11/15/24 and still nothing from Corey. So, I decided to call the office to see if I could talk to Corey and found out he was unavailable due to training I believe. I left a voicemail for him to call me back on this day. Wait a while longer and still no word from Corey so, now I’m getting upset. I call again on 11/27/24 and Corey is yet again unavailable, I also left a voicemail this day. Finally, Corey calls me 12/2/24 at 1615. Of course when I needed to pick the phone up I was unavailable. He SURPRISINGLY leaves me a voicemail stating that he has availability at the end of December to call him back to schedule an appointment. He also stated in this voicemail that he sent me an email on November 7th stating what his availability was and that he never received a response. (I never received this email by the way) I checked everywhere to make sure it wasn’t on my end. I definitely did not receive his email. I called him back at 1651 same day just to be sent to their voicemail. So, I try to reach Corey the following day 12/3/25 at 0848 and the receptionist answers the phone. (Rude as all get out as well) I ask to speak to Corey and low and behold she makes me aware that all the VSOs are unavailable due to training all week. That I’ll have to call back 12/9/24 to speak to Corey. Like, am I missing something here? This office seems incredibly unprofessional and not dedicated to the “service” they provide. Keep in mind this is my first time ever dealing with this and I already went into this understanding filing for VA was going to be a headache but never thought I would have to deal with this. All I needed was some kind of input or response. It took Corey from 10/23/24 to 12/2/24 to respond back to me. Beware of this office. I’ll have to use a different VA office since I literally wasted my time on this office.

I have been working with Chad Farris as my VSO for several years now and he has always gone above and beyond. He is extremely knowledgeable, reliable, and always does paperwork in a timely manner. I recommend him to everyone and anyone! Thank you so much!!

Sloane was one of the most professional VSOs I have encountered. Her personality, work ethic and knowledge was wonderful. I highly recommend her and El Paso County Veteran Services.

Additionally, I was able to get an appointment a week after calling for one.

My VSO Officer was Corey Gill. I went in for guidance on submitting my disability claim and he was really kind. The past couple of days were really cloudy and was triggering my headaches, he was really nice to dim the lights in his office since I still l had a lingering headache.

By the time my initial meeting ended, Corey had brought up a few things. One of them was that I didn't realize there were things that could be service connected based on my medical record (as secondary conditions). Another thing was how he explained to me how the VA calculated disability ratings and how my current ratings affect my %.

I got my next steps and look forward to continue working with Corey. Even if my rating doesn't increase, I am glad I am submitting things and this time with a VSO.

Side note - the ladies in the front were also very nice, I was able to call and schedule with ease. Checking in was no problem neither. Very happy we have this service.

I became aware of them through a VA organized on-line event. Later I made an appointment with the office and then went to it. They are convienently located with plenty of parking. At the meeting we reviewed why I want to update my service related claims. They will help me with the effort and we submitted an intent to file. Now we have one year to make it happen.

The El Paso County CO office has been assisting me over the last 10 months on a matter which has finally successfully resolved for my family. I've been impressed with the professionalism and honest care the entire office team has shared, both in person and over the phone during this time. I would also like to make special mention of Charles Graves, Assistant Veteran Service Officer. In addition to his part in the team's positive attributes, he is an informed, well-networked, patient, and honest leader/representative of the government services and resources. The team and Charles have my family's and my deep appreciation for all.

Although I didn’t have a great start with one of the other staff members I decided to call back and request a new person to handle my claim and I’m really glad I did. Sean woods was able to give me all the correct information I needed to gather all the paperwork in order to properly complete my claim. He communicated with me through in person meetings video calls and email. Everything was handled in an extremely professional manner and he did everything he could in his power to help me. Thank you sir for all the help.

I can't believe these people still have a job. Total jerk on the phone, and we finally got an appointment, it is 6weeks out. Things have dead lines and surviving spouses depend on these people to help. 8 people in this office, Great job!!!
