July 5, 2023. They are friendly is the only thing nice I can say. The petitioner gets 10 minutes, the county gets 5 minutes and the referee gets 5 minutes. That's right 20 minutes. I spent at least a couple of hours researching property values using Zillow. I found several properties that were valued at far below what they came up with. It was a complete waste of my time. It was a government bait and switch ploy. They already had their comparable properties and did not care about what I had researched. Even though they want you to bring this information with you, they didn't even look at it. Who knows your home? You? Or someone in government? You know things like a 25 year old kitchen and master bath compared to something recently remodeled. They also roll all the values ahead to June 30 2022 (you might call it Biden math). Oh and by the way, you are not privy of this information until you get to the meeting. Would have been nice if they had emailed this info to me before. That part was extremely unprofessional! If I could give them no stars, that would be my overall assessment.

They denied my request stating that I did not show them other property values. What the hell was what I hand delivered to you at the meeting? You asked no questions and did not even look at it!

I think they changed the format to which you can access the actual tax information when enquiring about a property. There's seems to be an extra step to actually access the taxation information of a property or parcel than there was before. Just letting you know in case you couldn't fund it. Look for a link to actually click on. I am leary about this extra link because it can potentially be be reroutedbto a website not secured properly containing false information. Either way, I feel the website itself has its way of not having the information as accessible as it should be and since this is a portion of FOIA then I feel the website as well as the water results of Colorado should also be more easily accessible.

My appeal, where I sent an appraisal from 2021 was denied. They valued my house way to high. A recent appraisal is not even close to the amount of their valuation. I feel this isn't fair to anyone. Anybody renting will see rent increases. The county assessors office seems to not care about anyone.

The arbitration process is a joke. I spent hours researching home sales and creating graphs and trendlines showing that my property value is 50k too high. All they have to say is "No, you didn't provide enough evidence." Pretty crazy that there is no burden of proof on their end. Actually, no it's not; they are the government and do whatever they want.

I have called a lot and each experience was very pleasant and helpful. They, in my opinion, went beyond the scope of their roles to help me resolve an issue and get information. Great team, very friendly, and conducts themselves in a manner that should be seen more in all government agencies.

Called to check on the status of my appeal after my property was over assessed by 30%. Phone never stopped ringing. Will try again soon and update my review accordingly.

EDIT: increased from 1 star. Forgot to call back. Eventually received a notification that my appeal was approved.

My property taxes went up from $995 to $1447 a year in 2023. This loser valued my 1103 square foot single level rancher at $369,000. Unbelievable. The city can't fix a pothole, so where is the money going?

Stigma says that state employees are rude and state offices are inconvenient. I found the opposite to be true of the country assessor's office. Linda and Peggy went out of their way to help me with my home and we're incredibly nice. I never waited longer than the time it took the lovely receptionist, Lacey, to grab whomever I needed. I was purging my manufactured home title which it's a process that usually takes 3 weeks or longer. While they were not the only factor, with their help, the process was done is about a week and a half. Thank y'all so much for your help!
