Ok so to be honest when we booked a double queen room with kitchenette for $150 for 2 nights we weren’t expecting much. But…were we surprised! The room is great! It has 2 very comfortable queen beds, a full fridge, a microwave and a separate little room with a sink and coffee pot. There was definitely enough room in the kitchenette room to store our box’s of crackers, etc. We had a table and chairs as well…oh and a bathroom with a separate room for the sink. We couldn’t have asked for more. It was very nicely furnished and very clean. On top of all of that, Dave at the front desk could not have been more helpful and reminded us about the free included hot breakfast. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Cortez!

The rooms were ok, Just walking up the uneven steep stairs to our room was a little unsettling. The man that checked us in however, was extremely nice and brought up our stuff for us. The breakfast was lacking. They kept on running out of food and no one was there to clean up the dining area. The grounds were dirty with dog poop, trash and cigarette butts. No designated area to walk a dog. No leash laws in the city. Got a loose dog scare.

Only plus about this motel was the very friendly guy at the front desk with the purple hair. It was so dirty in the room. The two plastic chairs had like puddle stains and spills all over them. The headboards had greasy hand prints all over them. Everything was super outdated and cheap looking. The bathroom was the worst, my daughter wouldn't even shower in it. The bottom of the tub was stained black and there were so many foreign hairs in it. There was also a smear on the wall close to the toilet and shower that I assume was poop. Foreign hairs on the floor as well. Super gross. If it hadn't been so late at night when we got there I would have gone elsewhere. Shower temp would not regulate either and the knob to turn on was half broken. I had to keep switching the shower to come out the faucet tub instead because it was either burning me or freezing cold, over and over and with the broken knob it wouldn't turn to a different temperature setting. Took me 20 minutes just to shower waiting on the water to regulate over and over. Breakfast had very few options, none looking appetizing so we didn't even partake in the free breakfast and left early.

Hotel was okay, bathroom was dirty and old. Flooring had black stains. I didn’t have water all morning so I complained to the front desk, they said they couldn’t issue a refund or discount since I paid with credit card points. I called capital one and they called the hotel, the front desk lady lied to the company saying I did have water. Capital one still refunded me partially for the stay. Bad look on this hotel. Wouldn’t recommend it. Blue hair guy that was there at night was great tho

We stayed in Cortez for a couple of days while traveling through CO to give ourselves a break and visit some of the parks in the area. Hotels were booked due to people traveling and such. Econo Lodge was the only place that had a room available so we really had no choice but to take it. I can say this, the hotel staff is wonderful. They were very accommodating and helpful. So let’s get down to the bad shall we? The room was somewhat clean, and I mean that by the floors needed a good mopping. The room had been renovated at some point but from the look of the handiwork it looks like they had the improvements was completed by the lowest bidder. The lamp on the side I slept on was broken, the bed was laying on the old foundation from time gone by and they the mattress on top of some sort of metal frame. When you moved on the bed the frame would pop and sound as if it was falling apart. The tub was stained and needed replaced. You had to let the hot water run for a good 10 to 15 minutes before it would get hot enough to take a shower. The lady at the front desk said we needed to flush the toilet to get the water hot! The chair in the room was nasty, full of stains. The table in the room wobbled so bad you could not do much with it. We needed to do our laundry so we walked into the laundry room which was outside in the ice machine room. The washer we used (one of them) was washing but would not spin out the water. When we dried our clothes one of the dryers only had air dry. We did not realize that until 45 minutes later when it turned off and the clothes were still wet. The pool was drained and looked as if it had been drained for a while. The parking lot was full of trash, come on people, clean the parking lot up! The breakfast was okay if you like waffles, eggs, meat, and fried potatoes. They did not have any fruit at all. The coffee tasted like it had been burned. The day before we were to leave I noticed a white van in the parking lot full of people. They were there in the van the next morning. I can only assume that they slept in the van with all 5 kids! The only thing that was good about this place was the staff.

Room was super clean, nowhere for critters to hide, staff was super nice, the Indian guy at the desk in the morning was very friendly , also the night staff. And the lady I talked to on the phone was nice, plenty of drawers, good ac, microwave, cold fridge, everything inside rooms was brand new. Looks like they are remodeling so outside there is a lot of debris but don't let that put put you off!

We had a good stay at the hotel! The staff was incredibly helpful. A young man at the front desk went above and beyond, offering suggestions on exploring the surrounding area and recommending great hikes. The next morning, another gentleman noticed we had a flat tire from the night before. He was very understanding and compassionate about the situation. Luckily, there's a Walmart Supercenter right across the street, so we were easily able to get new tires and get back on the road. Overall, the hospitality was top-notch, the room was comfortable, and the location was incredibly convenient. Thanks for a wonderful welcome!
