Don’t do it! We were loyal Dish tv customers in Boise, ID for 3 years. (Posting to Dish Headquarters.) Ok-ish. Weather issues. Always outages when storms, when you’d like to watch tv. Constant price hikes. Canceling service though! Wow! Dish requires customers to get up on your roof and disassemble their satellite dish for them and mail it back. I am not joking. If you don’t, they will charge you $500. So middle of winter, completely UNSAFE and unreasonable we did this. Outrageous. I would like the satellite dish off of our house! Please send a tech to come and get it off and repair the damage. They also change you a $25 ā€œbox feeā€ to return your equipment although they will not allow you to return your equipment to a local dealership. Shame on you Dish! Hope you go out of business soon! Switch to YouTube TV! Save money! No wretched satellite. No equipment to return.

I wanted to trust Boost Mobile and was initially optimistic about their offer: a great deal on a new iPhone 16 Pro with unlimited service for $65.99 a month. Unfortunately, that’s where my positive experience ended. After giving the service a fair shot, I have to say that Boost Mobile has been one of the worst carriers I’ve dealt with.

Cellular Service Issues
While no carrier can guarantee 100% coverage, you’d expect that if your area is reported as having ā€œexcellent serviceā€ and is surrounded by new towers, you’d at least get a reliable signal. That has not been the case for me.

Over two months, I discovered that both 5G and 4G signals in my area are weak at best. Calls frequently drop, and finding a usable signal in my own apartment became an exercise in frustration. The signal strength is consistently poor, often hovering at low to medium levels, which made even basic connectivity a challenge.

Customer Service Frustrations
I have no issue with outsourced customer service, but I do expect to be able to communicate effectively with representatives. Many of the English-speaking reps I encountered were difficult to understand, and the experience worsened when I was transferred from one rep to another, each with increasingly poor communication skills.

If I were in a country where English wasn’t the primary language, I’d understand the language barrier, and I wouldn’t complain. But in the U.S., where American English is the predominant language, clear and fluent communication is essential, especially for a company operating in this market. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience—it was a significant obstacle to resolving my issues.

The Final Straw
The real reason for my two-star review isn’t just the dropped calls or the difficult customer service experience. It’s the principle of paying for a service that doesn’t deliver what’s promised. Businesses shouldn’t take customers' money and provide inadequate service in return.

Ultimately, I decided to leave Boost Mobile despite being in a binding contract. Yes, this decision will likely hurt my credit score, but I refuse to continue paying for a service that doesn’t work. It’s a matter of principle—companies must be held accountable for delivering the quality they advertise.

Ting Mobile is a scam! Over a phone call a couple months ago, I was promised a refund for a false and invalid charge. When I did not receive my refund in the amount of business days she says, I followed up. Now they are denying my refund and refusing to explain why. Scammers!

Dish Network aka Boost Mobile, charged me for an additional month of cellphone service two weeks after I cancelled said service. Their claim is that I cancelled the service on the beginning day of a new monthly billing cycle, and there's nothing they will or can do about it.

Someone from this building (or linked to this building in some way) stole my debit card info and made a $170 Boost Mobile charge. I don’t even live in this state but the charge on my account has this exact address posted as part of the charge. Quick google search and here I am. Apparently Dish Network owns Boost Mobile. I’m thinking someone who either works there, or has a Boost Mobile/Dish Network account with you at this location is using stolen money. Idk how but please try to be more careful about this. It shouldn’t be this easy to just use someone else’s information like this.

As a loyal customer of Dish for over 13 years, my recent encounter with their customer service has left me deeply disappointed. Despite years of enjoying their services and even recommending them to friends and family, my attempt to cancel my subscription turned into an unpleasant ordeal.

However, what followed was a barrage of intrusive and unnecessary questions from their customer service representatives. Despite explaining that I no longer utilized Dish's services and wanted to cancel, I was met with persistent inquiries about "why" I was canceling. Each representative seemed unable to comprehend my decision, insisting on justification for my choice.

Despite my polite refusal to provide personal details, I was met with disrespect and condescension. One representative even went as far as to imply that I was foolish for not justifying my decision. As a consumer, I should not be made to feel belittled for exercising my right to choose the services that best suit my needs.

This negative experience has not only tarnished my perception of Dish but has also led me to reconsider recommending their services to others. Furthermore, if I ever decide to return to a cable or satellite service provider in the future, Dish will not even be considered as an option.

In conclusion, my long-standing loyalty to Dish has been overshadowed by the disappointing treatment I received during my attempt to cancel. It is my hope that Dish will take this feedback seriously and strive to improve their customer service practices to prevent others from enduring similar unpleasant experiences.

We talked to a representative 12-14-2023 and resolved our issues. $90 this month and $125 a month for 2 years. And today we have been shut off. What is going on. Now y’all want to charge us $100 for a tech to come out, and $10 a month for 4 months. We are senior citizens and fixed income and have had Dish for 20 years. Doesn’t that say something? Come on hold to your promise.
