The clerks are weird, can't seem to utter a hello or greeting and definitely feel like the redhead woman doesn't want to help or be kind. Seems like this branch scrapped the bottom of the barrel for employees.

I've been coming to this library since I was a child, and it's great. They have a wonderful selection of books for all ages and interests, and a very helpful staff. They also play host to fascinating lectures and events, everything from sewing clubs for adults to free immigration lawyers on hand to give advice to walk-ins. Recommended for all your literary and community needs.
Update May 2022: still a great place

My family and I love this library! "I think it's cool!", says my 7 year old. They have great programs for kids, including their summer reading program. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They usually have newer movies too.

If you want to come with kids, expect no toys or sitting area other than computers. There’s a total of 3 baby toys and two adult chairs, no puzzles or developmental activities. There are computers where kids just play computer games, and one had special gamer headphones on and was extremely loud while playing a violent game. There is a drawing table and that’s it. There are many signs to remind to clean up toys, but what is there to clean?!
Maybe I am just spoiled by other branches, such as Park Hill or Cherry Creek or the one on Santa Fe or University where there is a nice size kids area with plenty of stuff for kids to do and plenty of interesting books on display. Parents have plenty of seating to meet and discuss their kids. Schlessman seems to be a place to get books and leave.

While at this location I asked for help and a very nice lady who was sick helped me. There was an older women Jill( she gave me her name but I'm not sure if she was telling the truth, the other people in the branch didn't seem to know her name) who happens to be a temp at the same counter. Due to not having my library card I needed to return to the desk to check out books. When I returned there was a talk caucasian man (vert nice) checking out in front of me with Jill since she was the only one at the desk. His transaction was quick and then it was my turn.
When I approached the counter she was no longer smiling and said " ready to check out?".
I said yes and she proceeded to put on gloves before taking my ID or books.... (medical latex gloves)
I looked at her and decided not to say anything and wait to see what the happen next.
Once my transaction was over she then took her gloves off and helped the Caucasian lady behind me.
I was doing the exact same thing as the lady behind me but for some reason she required gloves to help me. Should I add that I am African American. I typically would not speak on race because in my mind it's not important but this was extremely hurtful and even my children noticed.

Fantastic, friendly, and clean library. Always nice people, great location and books are always in good / great condition. The only issue is the occasional parking issue because of the small lot. Best library in Denver!
