I had been shopping here for about 5 years but I'm done until this store turns things around.

Tonight, an actual rat ran from underneath the produce area to under an aisle. Thinking i missed something, i looked down only to see it scurry under another aisle. I told the produce guy about it and he replied "oh yeah they come in from the back all the time" and did nothing. Grossed out, i put my stuff back and walked out. I did tell a manager on the way out who said they would look into it immediately.

This was just the final straw. I had purchased fresh pasta a couple weeks ago only to find that it was long past the expiration date and kinda gross when i brought it home (i reached out to the local manufacturer to alert them of this). There's been a door broken in the deli meat section of the back wall for what seems like weeks. No attempt to shield the door or anything. Quality had also just seemed mehh in the last three months.

This was a really nice store that i will miss.

They had a decent stock of food options considering the size of the store, but the biggest dealbreaker to me at a grocery store is freshness of perishable items. I would say about 80% of the items I picked up were either soon to be expired or had already been expired by a month. I was also confused by people’s reviews about the quality of the meats. When I went there was one ground beef package that was severely grey and bad. I love to support smaller shops, but the food quality was a huge no for me and I shouldn’t have to check every single item for the expiration date.

This might be over the top, but I always felt the need to post a thought about this. In particular because I grew up in Redwood City and Key Market has been a staple since I could remember. I one day decided to send a resume to Key Market I hopes of maybe getting a opportunity to work there. The owner responded and asked for me to go to an interview in their San Carlos office. I went interviewed and at the end of the interview he tells me that he thinks the job is more appropriate for a student working after school. Like ok fine, but why waste my time and having me go in an interview to just tell me that. Obviously my resume would explain that I am not in HS. Super disappointed a thank you we will review your qualifications by email would suffice rather than make me waste my time.

Great store the employees are friendly. Every time I come in, though, there is a girl who works in the deli with long hair who never has it up. It's a little off-putting and makes me not want to order anything from there.

Good place to shop if you live close by. Place is clean, good variety of groceries for some reasonable prices, friendly staff. But, be extra cautious and check expiration dates, I've seen milk products expired 10-20 days ago, you can get serious illness from eating those!

Folks who work here are friendly and super responsive if you need help. When there are more than three people in line, they immediately open another checkstand. I wish they kept their asparagus standing up in water, but other than that, five stars for sure!

Nice market and people, did not know it had changed from Key Market. First time I ever saw $15.00 for a dozen eggs and a piece of cheesecake was 3X the price at WF. Pricey!
