Daily Planet Book Store

I have a formula for evaluating a bookstore which involves A: the number of books I know and like, B: the number of books I don't know but intrigue me, and C: the total number of items for sale. It can be expressed as k(A+B)/C, where k is a subjective constant based on staff affability and overall ambiance. The Daily Planet gets the highest score of any bookstore I've visited in Los Angeles, even disregarding the extremely high k. This place is a beautifully curated collection where every book is captivating. I bought a book on Harry Smith I didn't even know existed, and I have a mental list of others to procure on my next visit. Fantastic place!

I had a great time at the Daily Planet Book Store. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They had a vast selection of books, making it hard for me to choose just one. The cozy environment and peaceful ambiance made my visit even more enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

first time visit ...good selection of art and music books , magazines , and specialty press runs ..it's also an eclectic candle , incense , tarot gift shop -- sort of...small unique locally owned places like this are what cities are all about -- interesting shops that make you stop, and walk in..several other book and record shops are in the area , so you can visit them all easily ..i give big props for them selling my favorite weekend newspapers : LAT, NYT , WSJ and FT..the manager who sold me newspapers today very friendly and welcomed me to the store and the neighborhood ..? ? ? ? ?

Awesome shop! I had such a hard time deciding what to buy, it all seemed so interesting. I asked the worker if they could give me any recommendations, and they were so willing to help me navigate the collection. I absolutely will return when next I’m in LA!
