Fun place to hang out with friends and family. Things are quite pricey which is expected because it is a 'fair' after all!! Is $15 to get in and free for kids under 5. Tickets can be bought online too

Overall this was fun! Be sure to obtain or bring water and sunscreen if you have the luck to come on a 90+ degree day. Some spots have no shade and a lot of the shows are outside. Entry price is reasonable and there are a lot of free things you can walk around and watch/look at. Fine art building is fun but no outside liquids (even stuff in water bottles) so that’s a bit annoying. Lots of well done 4H stuff. Parking starts out fine but leaving leaves some guidance to be desired. Needs a bit more traffic directing. I’m glad I have experienced it, though I can’t say whether it’s much better than your typical area-wide fair.

Colorado state fair is just a scene all on its own.
They have tons of stuff for sale, they have tons of food, drinks, snacks, beer.. They have a petting zoo and some derby show. They do different things each day. Face painting, carnival rides for all ages. If you aren’t careful you’ll end up going home with a goldfish!! They also have a splash pad. It does get extremely hot. Waters are $4. Soda starts around $7-8. Turkey legs, gyros are $20. Lemonade is around $10-20. Definitely not a cheap trip. Wrist bands for carnival are pricey!!!! Overall is cool to check it out but you can definitely find yourself spending hundreds fast!!

Held annually in Pueblo. Lots of carnival rides to choose from. An unlimited ride pass was $40. It's worth it--if you buy anything less you're paying full price for each ride which is $5 or $6 and that $20 or $30 goes FAST. No need to bring cash. The only place that accepts it is the machines to buy your bracelets. You can pay for food, games or rides with your bracelet and load more credits onto it. Food is good but pricey. Tons of options though. So you could go pretty cheap if needed. Look for a lemonade stand with $2 hotdogs. Also, keep your cup because refills are half the price. The games are expensive as well but the workers are very kind and usually give a prize even if you don't win. Spent 6 hours out in 100 degree weather but there was plenty of canopies set up for shade and a decent cross breeze. Plan ahead and buy tickets in advanced if possible. Go during the week and take advantage of specials. What an awesome experience!

Side note: they are checking bags for prohibited items and weapons and you must enter through a metal detector. They've put alot of effort into safety and it's much appreciated.

Being a Colorado Native this is just one of those places and memories that you do every year. I’ve heard from other people who are not natives that this isn’t a great fair. Well, why don’t you move back to your home state!? 😉

There is an entry fee, and they’ve currently offer concerts, along with rodeos and shows, vendors, and also the carnival rides. The food is pretty affordable along with the entry. They also have a ton of animals. You can see and pet. I would definitely recommend at least trying this one time if you’re able to. But this isn’t gonna be like the LA County fair. Remember we’re in Colorado and it’s more of a smaller.

I went on a free day for me and there seems to be a free day for just about anyone. Just check the schedule. I'm not much for the rides but I love the animals. A very enjoyable day
