I enjoy hard trails and this one was definitely a tough one. Straight line elevation gain and you have to dig deep in certain spots. The signage could definitely be improved. Be prepared for a LOT of elevation.

It’s honestly not really a true hiking trail more just a route up to the top. Mostly strait up 1,600 elevation on average with no switch backs. The trail is very loose rock in areas. Views are top notch but not the route I’d pick if a beginner hiker. And it shows there is switch back but trail is not really well defined and it seems as almost everyone ends up one the straight up and down trail.

A good hike with instant hill climb. There is a zone where motorcycles can ride, and can use better signage. Nice views.

A tough hike, but worth it! You're literally going straight up a mountain. We gained close to 2,000 ft. of elevation in 1.5 miles!

I usually head to Canfield mountain to take a break from my writing and to spend time outdoors when I'm staying at my mom's place. Always a great hike, the trail is very well maintained easy to follow and one can use the challenging straight up Trail or use the switchbacks
