I have lost confidence in this Sheriff’s Department after an incident where an officer tailgated me yesterday. I felt personally discriminated against and intimidated by his actions. This experience has led me to believe there may be issues of corruption within the department, and I strongly feel that officers should undergo further training to ensure fair and respectful treatment of all citizens, as well as to prevent any abuse of authority.

Called with a possible prowler and the deputy chewed me out for calling. Complained I call once a month. Neighbors have people coming and going all hours of the night. Roaming our property. Thanks Barney Fife and the Fifettes. One bullet for Barney Fife.

They do not protect and serve. They do a shit job on investigating and getting shit done. They are the last people I would call for help. I would not put my life/safety in their hands

Have you seen what the DA has done to the county? One boy was almost murdered by drunk adults and he let it slide. Sick.

Very offputting to call the Sheriff with an urgent matter and be told to just leave a message.

I had a frantic child call me by accident thinking I was a family member. He told me his house was on fire. I informed him to call 911. In an attempt to help I called 911 and was going to give them the child’s phone number that he called me from. When the 911 operator (Kaitlyn) answered she asked “where is your emergency” I attempted to explain the situation and she immediately became rude. Her exact words were “well sir we don’t have time to drive to every house in Durant to see if they are on fire”. Then had a few more condescending comments before I asked her why she was being so rude. In her eyes she wasn’t being rude. Absolutely unprofessional behavior from a person that is supposed to be helping people in dire need. I called the child back and asked him if he called 911 and he said he had. I hope the child is ok. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS EMPLOYEE!!!! She needs to be trained and maybe dropped off at a congeniality class.

About a year ago I really disliked the sheriff department here. But after the last few months I can't say anything but good things about the people that work there. Wonderful officers that go above and beyond. Very helpful people that take pride in their job.
