I love this place they go above and beyond to get you the book that you want. it is a bit stuffy inside because they are bringing in so much new product. And it can be over price do to it being the only bookstore in town. But you can always go in there for a good time to get to know one of the co-owners and his dogs. always great conversation and it is just a few shops down from a good coffee store. They also have an awesome section on the history of Leadville.

Let's say you're walking around Leadville Colorado, and you're looking for something off the beaten path. And you want to see a bunch of really cool books displayed in some sort of organization style that you can't quite figure out, this is the place for you.
Don't worry about the dogs in the entryway they just want to give you a little sniff. They are all very friendly.
New and used books are stacked together.if you ask there are some cool first edition books interspersed throughout.

As you walk in the door, there are 4 awesome shelter dogs waiting to greet you. Instead there is a delightful selection of books. Behind the counter the is a delightful middle aged man that is full of knowledge and is willing to share if you desire. Well worth the stop if you are passing through Leadville.

Nice friendly bookstore, with a good selection of various types. The dude who works there is really chill, his dog is friendly but sleepy. I was there in the Summer of '17 and the store was still open around 630pm.

The owner, a semi-retired attorney, is more than willing to talk about Leadville's fabulous past and show related books to visitors. And he doesn't try to up-sell, either. In our case, he suggested a less expensive paperback about Leadville as being better written and a better value than some other books.
If this had a fireplace or pot-bellied stove, you can see how it could be a handout during the 13 months a year of Leadville's winter weather. Oh. Wait. The store owner is also the official National Weather Service observer for Leadville. He put an end to the tale told by other shopkeepers of snow that's 13 feet deep in the winter. Not so, he said. It's generally about 10 feet deep.

Wonderful staff. Willing & eager/excited to share their local knowledge. No hard sell & great choices on the shelf. We tried to go back but we're too late.

Sad little place. The owner is extremely rude. Not much in here either. It shows zero pride of ownership. Even the owner’s little dogs are miserable and aggressive.
